Yeah, I got a call from someone claiming to be from a "Telecoms Research Group". Sounds more like they're just fishing for how many phone lines you run and who’s the MD so they can pass it on to other firms for annoying sales calls about telecom stuff. When I gave them anything other than a straight number for how many lines I had, their reply was just "sorry, didn’t get that". Had a bit of fun wasting their time, but I’m sure they'll ring back again soon.

I got a call like this too, they wanted to know how many phone extensions we had. I refused to say, then they asked for the name of a director, and I didn’t give that either. Felt a bit fishy when I asked their reason and they got quite rude. So I searched the number online and found loads of warnings about them. Ended up hanging up - dodgy lot. If they were really good at digging up info, they’d already know what they were asking for!
