I received a call from someone claiming to be from PG&E, insisting that my electricity supply would be cut off unless I settled a payment immediately via phone.

I got a call from this number claiming that there’s a planned power cut on the 8th of October, 2019, running from 8:30 in the morning until 12:30 in the afternoon. The caller said they were from National Grid. However, upon ringing National Grid to check the facts, I was informed that no such power outage was on the books for that date and time. Quite suspicious, if you ask me!

Whenever I pick up, there's nobody on the line. I was under the impression that these sorts of calls were a thing of the bygone days.
