They said I had to pay $5000 right away plus $2000 for each of four charges they claimed were against me. They said I was being investigated. What freaked me out even more was that during the call, I got a different call from what they said was the real H and R number, and the person on that call told me my accountant was busy and I should just listen to the people calling me from this number. It was really scary and honestly quite traumatic, and I ended up losing money because of it. I hadn’t ever experienced something like this before and didn’t know about CRA scams at all. I feel like I have to warn others so they don’t fall for these criminals like I did.
