The initial ring came from an 0161 code. They dropped the call, then redialed using an 0800 number. It was clear the call centre was swamped, with a quite condescending bloke trying to convince me that either me or someone I knew had an accident claim worth £4022. He added I'd grab a £1000 finder's fee if I helped refer the person to a no-fault claim. I asked if they actually wanted me to fabricate a claim just to scam some cash, and they said yes! I managed to keep them chatting for a good 20 minutes before they caught on and ended the call.

Had a call from an Indian lady with loads of noise in the background. It was the same rude lady who called me ages ago - proper pushy and quick to get nasty if you say you’re not interested. I’ve blocked the number now, but these lot just ring from a different one straight away. They’re nothing but a bunch of cheats trying to con decent folks out of their money.

Got a call from an Indian bloke about this crash I had. Told him I'd been on my third pint behind the wheel when a bloody unicorn suddenly appeared, made me swerve and smash into some lorry - was it red? Or maybe yellow? Can’t quite remember. Then I gave him the reg plate, which was something like F U C K U 91, and he just hung up on me. Honestly, no idea what that was about!

Got a call from an Indian bloke saying he'd been in a crash. When I asked for the number plate, he just muttered something and then suddenly cut the call.

Got two calls from 0800 547 8961, but didn’t pick up either time. The voicemail they left was in a language I couldn’t understand - sounded like maybe two people chatting, seemed Indian or something. The calls came through just seconds apart. The first time, no message, just some weird background noise. Pretty odd!
