Reports on phone number 8004650024
8 yearsMy mum, who’s 78, got a call from someone asking to check her Visa banking details. She wasn’t having any of it and told them she’d ring the bank herself to sort it out. They tried saying her card had been used to buy stuff on eBay or something. She just hung up, then called the bank directly. The bank confirmed it was a total scam, nothing going on with her account. If you think someone’s trying to scam you, make sure you call your bank straight away or report it to the police or online scam websites. Don’t ever give out info they don’t already know, and remember, they’ll never ask for your PIN over the phone - not the scammers, and not the bank. They just don’t need that kind of info, so keep it safe.8 yearsIt’s totally a scam, seriously. Never give them your name or the last 4 numbers on your card, no matter what they say.8 yearsI just had a phone call from a man with a really thick accent, sounded Indian or maybe Pakistani. He was telling me my Visa card might have been hacked and asked if I’d spent $4K on eBay recently. I asked him who he was, and he just ended the call right away. I haven’t bought anything off eBay for ages, and when I do, I pay through PayPal anyway, so I could tell this was some sort of scam. I reckon they probably found my number from the Bell directory.8 yearsThey keep ringing my phone, but as soon as it goes to voicemail, they just put the phone down. Not once have I heard a recorded message or anything left behind, so I’m pretty sure it’s some kind of scam.9 yearsI've had this number ring me loads but luckily I've blocked it on my end. Honestly, I just want them to stop bothering me altogether. Wish they'd just disappear!9 yearsThis number just rang me, and I've decided to block it for good. They were asking for a person who doesn't even live at my address, so I ended the call right away.9 yearsGot a call from someone saying they were from Visa, asking for Mrs ****. I answered, but it felt off since they reached me on my daughter’s phone and she’s definitely not a Mrs. They claimed I had a past due Visa payment. I told them straight up I don’t have one, and then they just hung up. When I tried calling the number back, it said the 800 number wasn’t available in my area. Curious, I looked it up and it turned out to belong to an asphalt company nearby. So, I phoned them and left a message warning about a Visa scam using their 800 number. Since they’re local here in Ontario, I’m planning to report it to the police. It was creepy how they even knew my surname...VisaOntarioSubmit Your Own Report (0800 465 0024)
