They’ve been ringing me from this number on and off since 2016. I’ve picked up a few times just to explain the bloke they want is my ex, and we split up back in 2014. I haven’t got any way of contacting him. Usually I end the call ’cause they get quite rude and pushy. There was once when they promised to take me off their list, but the calls keep coming anyway. I haven't got any debts to anyone, and I got really fed up, so I called back and told them to stop with all the harassing calls or I'd take legal action. The bloke on the line started saying I owed the IRS or something. Well, first off, I’m Canadian and don’t live in the States, so I don’t owe a thing there. Second, I told him my debt was zero and to stop pestering me. I ended up shouting at the guy, who seemed like some scammer with an Indian accent trying to pull a fast one. Loads of these numbers keep ringing me daily. I usually ignore them, and most times no voicemail is left. Every now and then, they ring my landline, which I never pick up unless I know who it is. Occasionally, they leave a message telling me to call back or else I’ll get dragged into "federal court" - total scam! If it were legit, they’d send a letter, not creepy calls. Also, I don’t have anything that would bring me before any "federal court." My advice? Just don’t answer, block them all, and definitely don’t return the call. These are robotic calls and they can even fake their caller ID.

From what I’ve found, it’s some debt collection company, and they mentioned Bell too. Like the other day, they called pretending to be from Revenue Canada, saying I owed money to the government and needed to pay up. I told them no way, and then they said I could pay using Google Play or Steam cards. They even threatened that I’d have a warrant out for my arrest if I didn’t pay. There’s so many scams nowadays, I just don’t pick up any calls from unknown numbers anymore.

Avoid picking up if you get a call from CBV Collection, it’s a total scam. They keep bothering you non stop, especially when you’re not the person they're after. They act like you must be connected to them somehow or trying to dodge paying what’s owed. Best thing is just don’t answer, it’ll save you loads of hassle.

They keep calling me a couple times every day but never say a word before hanging up. I really hope Bell Canada and the CRTC step in and deal with these annoying calls properly through the DNCL. These guys have no right to keep ringing like this. If you give Bell the numbers they’re using, they might sort it out. Another option is contacting the Vancouver Police to report it so they can investigate and maybe impose some actual fines for breaking telemarketing laws. Even tho they’re based in BC, Bell still controls their services and could have them cut off for good.
