When they asked if my birthday was correct, it wasn’t, so I asked for some more details. The weird part is, they were asking for someone who definitely isn't me, even though I've had this number for about 5 years. I think they might've been trying to reach my ex-father-in-law, whose name is often messed up by people. Thing is, I changed my last name years ago and have been divorced for nearly two decades, and he even remarried not long after. I'm planning to report that number because it just smells like a scam. The guy they're likely after is an elderly, disabled veteran living on a fixed income, relying on the VA for his medical needs and hasn't managed his finances in ages.
