Some bloke pretending to be a deputy rang me up, trying to con me into coughing up £500 for a payday loan he claimed I took ages ago and never paid back. He said paying that sum would prove to the court I was serious about sorting out the rest. When I told him I couldn’t afford to give him anything, he threatened that a coppers would be at my door soon to nick me, and I’d be facing six months inside. I later looked up the number he used, and it actually linked back to the building where the sheriff’s office was in my old town.
