Got a call from someone claiming there was a problem with my Windows, sounded just like one of them Danish scam calls. I cut them off straight away. Total fraudsters, no doubt. Just block the number and move on.

Totally a scam. Got a call earlier and decided to mess around, ended up keeping them on the line for like half an hour and it really annoyed her. She kept switching to Bangla sometimes, so the "Microsoft" person was probably either Indian or Bangladeshi, maybe calling from somewhere in the UK. I’m based in Denmark.

They ring up saying there's a virus on my computer, claiming they're from Microsoft and here to help get rid of it. The thing is, I use a MacBook Pro with MacOS, which pretty much can’t get viruses. I also have ClamAV installed to stop any virus from spreading to others. ClamAV works on both Linux and Mac but you gotta pay for it on Mac. I’d definitely suggest it because all the virus scanners in the App Store are basically useless. This one’s actually the kind the big servers rely on.

I got a call from someone saying they were from the Windows support team, telling me there was an issue with my PC. I got annoyed pretty quick and ended up yelling at him, even threatened to dob him in to the police for his bloody scam (words I actually used), instead of just going with the flow for a bit. Definitely a scam, no doubt about it, but as long as you don’t give away any important details, they can’t really do anything. If you’re feeling brave, you could keep them talking for a while.
