Just found out I've been getting billed £3.75 every week for a whole year by some company called switchfire. Weird thing is, I never even got any texts from them! I've contacted my service provider and made sure they blocked the number. I also rang their customer service and went through the unsubscribe process. Fingers crossed the next bill won't have those charges. Seriously outrageous! Make sure you keep an eye on your bills all the time.

I got hit with a weekly £3.75 fee from 700046115 for some sort of contest. Thought I was safe after blocking the number, but guess what? Blocking just stopped the texts from coming through, didn’t stop them from charging me! So watch out, blocking doesn’t mean you won’t get billed.

A while back, I got a message telling me to text ‘STOP’ to 85011 to avoid a £3.50 weekly fee, which I did. But then my next bill showed a different charge of £3.75 per week coming from this same number. I looked into it and saw the source was still 85011. So I’ve now messaged ‘STOP’ to both numbers and waiting to see what happens next.

I’ve discovered that this number belongs to a firm referred to as Hot Prizes. Shockingly, I've been billed over £30 for a series of seven calls to my mobile, each taking place weekly. I reached out to Virgin Mobile, and they instructed me to send a message to 85011 with the words STOP-ALL, and then to call a company named Socman at 01567380029. I’ve followed their advice diligently. During my conversation with a representative, she claimed that I had supposedly subscribed to this Hot Prizes service back on July 1st, which is absolutely untrue! The only possibility that comes to mind is that it might be linked to something I encountered while browsing Facebook. I certainly won't be getting involved in anything similar again. I suspect it might have stemmed from a TESCO competition that popped up on my screen - I couldn’t dismiss it, and out of curiosity, I attempted to engage but didn’t complete the process before switching off my phone. What a lesson learned!
