Just a heads-up about a scam I encountered today. A woman rang me claiming to be from Citibank saying something about waiving fees on a credit card. She asked me for my details before explaining which card it was about. When I asked for the card info first, she refused to tell me, saying she had to verify I was the right person. I asked how I could be sure she really was from Citibank. Her reply was to just call the bank if I was worried. I kept pressing for which card this involved, but she just got a bit shouty telling me again to call Citibank if I wasn’t comfortable sharing info. So, I ended the call and rang Citibank myself. They told me nothing was happening with any card of mine and when I gave them the phone number the caller used, they confirmed it wasn’t a Citibank number. They were grateful I reported it. Stay careful out there!

I got a call on my mobile from a woman who said she worked in the Loan department. When I asked for her name, official email, rank, or what system she was using for loans, she couldn’t answer any of it. She even told me she was using Eclipse, which is some free software tool, as their Loan system at Citi. That just didn’t sit right with me - if she really worked for Citi Bank, I'd expect way more professionalism. There wasn’t really a way to verify her identity over the phone, which left me questioning how organized Citi really is. Honestly, it made me wonder about the management there; it seemed pretty chaotic and poorly handled from my point of view.

When I finally got through after ages, a woman answered and said she worked in the loans dept and couldn’t assist me. She told me she’d have someone else phone me back, but I haven’t heard anything yet. Still waiting on that return call.

Last week I rang up Citibank to ask if they could waive the annual fee on my credit card. Funny thing is, Citibank honestly seems clueless that this is even a thing people are annoyed about.

This number has rung me up a couple of times, but whenever I pick up, there's just silence on the line. It's really annoying, especially when I'm right in the middle of a meeting. In the end, I thought it best to just block the number altogether.

Can't believe how many folks here mentioned "Citibank". I had a similar thing happen - answered the phone and the person just dropped the call. Really odd, isn’t it? By the way, I actually sent off a request for an Annual Fee waiver through internet banking email just a few days back.

Today, the 4th of August 2016, at around 4:41pm, I got a call from the number 66362324. As soon as I picked up, the person on the other end immediately disconnected, so I wasn’t able to say a word or find out who it was. Quite odd, really.

So this number is supposed to be Citibank. When I picked up, they just cut the call straight away. Then they rang back again and said they were from Citibank this time.

Answered twice, both last week and this week, then just ended call quickly! So irritating!

Got called twice by the same number today. I reached out to Citibank via live chat and they said they didn't make any calls to me today. The person on the phone was kinda confused, first asking me about loans twice. When I said no, she switched to saying it was about waiving fees on my Citi credit account, but I already took care of that a couple months ago. So frustrating!

Got a call from this number here in Singapore, it was Citibank. I asked them if they could waive the annual fee on my credit card.

Can you really be sure its really Citibank calling? I wouldnt feel safe giving out my info to a random number like that. Seems risky to me.

I always just cut the call the moment I pick up. If it’s someone from Citibank, it’s probably about that waiver I applied for a couple of days ago.
