Today I got a call from a woman who kept asking loads of personal questions, like she wanted all my info. If you’re not sure who’s calling, it’s probably safer just to ignore the number.

Today, on the 8th of September 2015 at about 12:37, I got a call from them. I have a feeling they might be taking money straight from my balance... not sure what’s going on.

I reached out to both Etisalat and Du, and all they told me was to just ignore the calls. They said there’s nothing they can do about it.

This number keeps calling me but when I pick up, no one says anything and just hangs up. I tried ringing them back but there’s no answer at all. I reported it to Du but they said they haven’t come across that number before. After doing some digging online, it seems like this scam group has been doing this for ages and they're still bothering people. Sadly, it doesn’t seem like anyone’s cracking down on them anytime soon.

Today I got a call from the number 065721117, the lady said she works for a telecom company. She kept asking loads of questions, felt a bit off. I'm worried if giving them my details might cause trouble later.

Sorry for the delayed reply, but I just received a call from this number too (didn’t pick up since I have no contacts in shj).

I asked a mate in the police about it, and they said it’s a marketing firm that calls to figure out which phones are active and what language the person speaks. If you answer, they record your details and later bombard you with spam messages via SMS or WhatsApp adverts!

I just got a call from this number asking all sorts of questions like how long I'd be at my spot and if this was my phone. They started asking about the job's location too. I honestly have no clue why they're ringing me so much for no reason... really unnecessary.

This number rang me around 11:50 in the morning, and a woman answered speaking Arabic. She asked me if I preferred Arabic or English. I said English, and then the call just dropped.
