65888 Summary (Read all comments)

Phone number ☎️ 65888 👆 is reported as a recurring scam involving unsolicited premium text messages from number 65888, primarily linked to a fitness service. Many users on UK networks, especially Three, have been charged around £4.50 per message without consent or clear subscription. Attempts to stop the texts by replying "STOP" sometimes incur additional fees or fail due to undelivered messages. Network providers often offer limited assistance, referring customers to third-party companies or email contacts for cancellation and refunds, which can be inconsistent. The operator behind it is linked to a company registered in Cyprus, raising concerns over legal accountability. Victims advise caution, recommend reporting to the Phone-paid Services Authority, contacting trading standards, and monitoring bills closely to prevent continued charges.

65888 Has been charging me £4.50 every couple of weeks for the past two months. No idea how it’s been happening when I never agreed to anything. Got some texts but just ignored them since they were unsolicited. Tried calling the number listed on Starmobile’s site but it doesn't even go through.

Absolute rip offs. Had £10 on my PAYG vanish quick, and only after a big fuss with the Ombudsman did THREE accept they had to refund me £4.50 for every spam text sent from 65888 First Fitness. Never heard of this lot, never signed up for anything with them, no clue how they managed to get hold of my number. Seems like THREE really couldn’t care less about stopping these scammers judging by what others have said before.

65888 is a total scam, run by a bloke called Naeem Pervaiz as Director. Time to have a bit of fun and give this cheeky bugger a taste of his own medicine. You can find his address on the Companies House site - the council’s gonna be swamped with complaints from noise to possible alien invasions. I’ll sign him up to every damn subscription I can find, he’ll probably need a skip just to dump all the junk mail heading his way.

Got hit with extra charges for some 'Premium Messaging Service' from this number, and after checking out other comments, it seems like a dodgy way to rake in more cash. I was stunned to see £4.50 added to my bill for every message I got. I’ve texted "STOP" back to them and blocked the number as well, fingers crossed no more unexpected fees pop up.

I just found out ive been getting these Premium texts i never signed up for, thought they were just spam from FreeMsg 65888. Each message cost me £4.50 and so far ive racked up over £50 on these messages about fitness. Tried contacting Three by phone and live chat but no one answers. Ive logged into my online account and set my extra charges to zero and blocked premium numbers. I also tried texting 'STOP ALL' to 65888 like it said online, but it didnt go through. Never agreed to this and honestly shocked this can happen.

Just like loads of others, I’ve noticed a charge of 2 times £4.50 every month from the 65888 premium number on my statement. I got in touch with my card company, 3, who then reached out to a company called Spontaneous Minds - they’re experts in stopping these annoying texts. You can ring them on 02035144690. Alternatively, you can try emailing the premium service itself at [email protected][###] and see if they’ll give you a refund. Best of luck!

This scam happened overseas, with a company in Cyprus responsible, which supposedly no longer exists on their version of Companies House. Meanwhile, some UK agents are cashing in here based on this dodgy scheme. Three Mobile traced the payments back to Oxygen8 as the recipient. The Cypriot company, even though it's listed as dissolved, offered me a goodwill gesture of just a third of what was stolen, which I turned down. I'm now thinking about taking legal action.

This seems like an organised scam. I’ve been billed £126 by my mobile provider Three Mobile for texts I never agreed to receive. Three just passes the buck and says it’s down to a firm called Oxygen8. Their contact number, 03331379000, doesn’t even work. Then I contacted the regulator PSA who gave me another number, 02035144698, for a "cancellation company" named Spontaneous Minds. They say they'll cancel the service but sent me to [email protected][###] 02035144698".

I noticed 65888 showing on my lad’s phone bill but he’s never sent or got any texts from that number. It’s charging £4.50 a month and this month it appeared twice. ID Mobile aren’t helping at all. I thought about texting STOP but worried it’ll cost more, so I haven’t risked it. I’m gonna set the bill limit to zero now. Has anyone actually managed to get their money back?

FreeMsg. For more than a year, I've been getting charged £4.50 twice every month. I reckon I accidentally agreed to a message from 65888 without realising I'd signed up for anything. There was nothing clear about being charged or that it would cost me £9 monthly. I've probably been billed over £100 by now. I'm asking for a refund as I’m really upset about this and feel it's a bit of a rip-off. Rev Douglas MacKeddie

My daughter’s been getting charged like this too, I tried texting 6588 to stop it but it won’t go through, just says failed and charges £4.50 every time.

Received a couple of texts from this number. Blocked it, but then started getting messages without a number, just labelled as Freemsg. When I checked my bill, I was gobsmacked to see they charged me £4.50 for every message. Tried texting back on the number I blocked since Freemsg doesn’t let you reply. Just got another message saying the service has been stopped, so hoping that’s the end of it now. Fingers crossed!

65888 kept sending me texts loads of times and ended up charging me £22.50. I got in touch with my network provider and they gave me a number to call which stops these unwanted premium messages I never signed up for. The number from Three was 03333137900, something like oxygen 8. They’ve now blocked the messages and gave me an email to ask for a refund for the charges, it’s [email protected][###]. Hopefully this helps others stuck with the same issue.

I recently discovered an unexpected £6 charge from the 65888 code on my phone bill last August, and I can’t for the life of me understand why it was taken. This seems extremely unjust, and I’m contemplating seeking legal recourse over this matter. If anyone can assist or shed light on this, I’d be grateful. You can reach me on my mobile at 07828522947. I strongly urge you to rectify this situation and refund my money promptly. Cheers!

I also got hit with a £9 fee from two texts sent by a number I never agreed to. Seems like this issue is only affecting a few 3 customers, which makes me think there’s either been a data leak or some dodgy behaviour from 3. I rang 3 and they told me to text STOP to 65888 to avoid further charges. They refused to refund anything, which is just ridiculous. I told them if they don’t cancel my contract, I’ll take legal action. Then they just cut the call. Says a lot about them.

65888 has been sneaking charges on my phone every couple weeks since June (just spotted it now). It’s already cost me £23.50 and I got another charge yesterday for £4.50. It’s from something called 1st fitness (I’m 62 with pretty bad arthritis, so the last thing I need is texts from some fitness company I never signed up to). Being charged £4.50 for these messages really feels like a kick in the teeth. I’m with Three network and this number is linked to [#]playmobilestar[###]. The company address is Star Mobile Investments Ltd, Christou Samara 5, Erimi, Limassol 4630, Cyprus.

Just got my latest bill and noticed a £9 charge, split into two £4.50 messages from a number I don’t recognise, 65888. I never agreed to any subscriptions or anything like that. Looking at other reviews, it looks like quite a few folks on this network are getting the same problem.

This number is a total rip off, 3 mobile charged me £9 for July and August, and now they say September as well. I never signed any contract with 65888. 3 are illegally taking money from my bank for some 3rd party service. I’m definitely gonna report this and sort it out.

I'm dealing with the exact same problem. I've been billed £9 by three from the number 6588 multiple times. My contract with three runs till March 2021. I'm really fed up now. I only want to use this number to get calls or texts, not to send any. What would you recommend I do?

I just found a £9 extra fee on my Three Broadband bill, and they’re saying I must have signed up for a premium text service just by browsing online!! I called Three and they were no help, saying I need to get in touch with the company behind it to cancel the service (which I never actually agreed to). The number linked is for my broadband router, so I don’t even use it. I can only guess that Three maybe had a data leak for them to even have that number.

Facing the same problem like others mentioned here. Saw a £4.50 fee on my phone bill from 65888. Didn’t get any msgs so maybe the spam filter caught them. Tried contacting my provider (IdMobile, using 3 network) but no luck. Sent STOP reply and got a message saying unsubscribed. I’m really concerned for people using sims in tablets or dongles who might not notice this. It feels like it should be in everyone's interest to get that number banned.

Complete rip off, I got charged £4.50 several times before I noticed my phone bill had increased. When I got those texts, I just ignored them because there was no clear mention it was a premium service or that I'd be charged. I never agreed to or signed up for anything. I've reported it to three different networks and all they did was say they'd log it as a complaint, but nothing more was done. I've also contacted the company behind this scam by email [email protected][###] What puzzles me is how this is even allowed and why the networks can't seem to stop these scams???

Absolute nightmare! Luckily, I caught on after the first message - I deleted it at first, thinking that if I replied “STOP” it would cost me. I was totally wrong. They charged me £4.50 just for receiving that text! The advice from my phone provider was to reply STOP (which btw, costs another 10p). I emailed [email protected][###] and got a reply saying they’ll refund as a “gesture of goodwill”. But now they want all my bank details to do the refund!!! Obviously I’m not giving that info. Will update you on what happens next.

I’ve had a £4.50 charge on my bill every month since July last year. Yesterday I finally got through to Three and they told me to text STOP to 65888. I’ve sent the message three times but nothing’s worked. I wasted ages trying to get in touch with Three and I’ve had enough now. My husband has ended up writing a letter to their main office. Honestly, I have no idea how this even got onto my phone. By now, it’s cost me over £77.00.

This week I got billed for two texts I didn’t expect. I rang my network, ID Mobile, and they told me to put an extra usage limit of £0 on my account, but that stopped me from using some things I need. They also said to get in touch with the Phone Paid Services Authority at 0300 303 0020 to ask them to block the number. Not really sure if that’ll help, but I’ll give them a ring next week since I don’t work weekends.

Got charged £4.50 two times by 65888, no clue who they are or what it is. Contacted Three network but they said they cant help. Ended up cancelling my pay as you go monthly plan. I’ve put in a complaint about this firm to both the PSA and the ICO. Just lately, I’ve reported them to the ICO because they ignored my request to find out how they got hold of my phone number and used it without me agreeing to anything. I’d recommend others do the same. I’m absolutely certain I never signed up for anything with them, so it’s got to be a scam.

Got the same message about gym workout steps! How is this allowed to happen for ages? I never agreed to any of it. Don’t know the company at all but they still took £3.75 from my account. O2 couldn’t care less, just told me to contact the Phone-Paid Services Authority.

Got a message from O2 saying I’d sent my first premium text, which I knew wasn’t true. So I looked at my bill and found a £3.75 charge for a text I supposedly received from Kalastia Consulting - but I never got one. I rang O2 customer support to complain about the charge. They were great, gave me a refund and blocked that number on my account. I’m on the TPS and have no clue how these dodgy people managed to get hold of my number.

i've dealt with this 3 times now. i reckon it's got something to do with sky. they're ripping people off left and right. if you’re a customer, good luck trying to leave - it’s a nightmare. trust me, i've been trying to sort it out and i'm actually reporting them for fraud right now.

65888 Just checked my phone bill and theres a 3.75 charge from this number. I never agreed to any premium services or anything. Spoke to o2 but they said theres nothing they can do apart from texting stop, but it could still charge me again. I reckon the best thing is to report it to [#]actionfraud.police.gov so if enough people complain they might take action against them.

Noticed a strange charge on my bill, have no clue where it came from. Only realised it after asking a few mates. I've put in a Subject Access Request to see what info they hold and how they even got my number in the first place.

65888 I didn’t even get the text according to my phone history but still got charged £4.50. Spent an hour on live chat with O2 and they confirmed I was asleep at the time! Honestly, these scammers need to be reported to all the relevant bodies. They said I’ll get my money back in about 2 weeks.

You should report this to the Phone-paid Services Authority, they’re the ones who look into these things.

I saw that I got charged £4.50 three times just for getting texts from this number. I rang my provider, Three, to try and get my money back, but all they said was to text STOP and email customercare[###]@oxygen8[###] asking for a refund. They said they won’t give a refund themselves. I tried sending the text but it wouldn’t go through (not a signal problem) and I’ve also emailed them as told. Now I’m just waiting to hear back. I’m planning to pop into a Three shop since the phone support was pointless.

I got a message from 65888 and I blocked the number right away. But when I looked at my O2 bill today, I found out they charged me £4.50 for a text I didn’t ask for. This is really unfair. People should be stopped from sending these sorts of messages and taking our hard-earned money. I want my money back, so can someone tell me how to get a refund? It’s crazy how these people keep stealing money and no one seems to be doing anything about it. These businesses and their calls should be banned so no more people get caught out. I really hope some proper action will be taken to stop this.

65888 - Honestly no clue who’s behind this, and O2 just shrugs it off! They keep telling me it’s a premium rate number, which I already figured out - don’t need them to explain it like I’m daft! I’ve tried contacting info[###]@clausmobi[###], but they deny any connection. Then I shot an email to customercare[###]@oxygen8[###] to see if they’re involved - awaiting a reply. Also gave a ring to 0333 313 7900, but it’s just some automated message. How on earth is this even legal? It's so frustrating!

I rang the help line and they told me I signed up on the 31st of December. There's no way I did cos it was New Year’s Eve and I remember exactly what I was doing that day. I’m definitely gonna report them to the Phone Paid Services Authority.

So, I ended up getting a £9 refund cheque for those two annoying texts I received, plus they assured me I won’t be getting any more messages from them again. I popped into my nearby EE shop where they handed me a phone number that turned out to be useless, but they also gave me an email address info[###]@clausmobi[###] which actually got me a reply. All done at last!

I got caught out by 85888 as well, charging me £4.50 for each message! It’s such a scam. Never signed up for anything like this. Really hope these scams get shut down soon. Thanks everyone for posting info about it, I’m definitely going to fight to get my money back!

Got a message from 65888 charging me £4.50 for 5 lines of workout tips. Why would I pay for fitness advice like that? I didn’t sign up or anything. Tried texting STOP two times but just keeps saying sending then it fails, even though my signal’s perfect. I’ve also emailed them quite firmly - would recommend doing that if they claim they never received your texts.

Got two messages from 65888 so far and seriously no clue how they even got my number. I sent a STOP reply after the first message back in early January, but then another one popped up in early February. I’m reluctant to send STOP again since they charge for those texts. Think I’ll try reaching out to them by email instead this time.

Got ripped off for £4.50 recently. I rang Three and they told me it was due to a text I supposedly sent on 21/12/18 to 65888. I've checked all my messages and there's no trace of anything from that number. Three mentioned it's linked to a firm named Oxygen8[###] and advised me to reach out to them to sort a refund.

I've gotten hit with a £4.50 charge two times now for texts from some dodgy lot I've never heard of or agreed to get messages from. If you're finding the same thing happening to you, definitely let the ICO know. It's crucial they look into this sort of thing.

Got a text from 65888 saying it’s from 1st fitness and it cost me £4.50! I never asked for this at all. Rang O2 and they told me to reply STOP to get it to stop. How is this even allowed? I'm 100% sure I've never signed up for anything like this. Such a scam.

I just saw a charge of £3.75 from some Premium number on 2nd January 2019 that I never called or even heard of. Sent an email to customercare[###]@oxygen8[###] and also replied with STOP ALL, but I’m worried about how much that message itself might cost. I’m on O2 and will give them a ring, though I’m not holding my breath for any help. It’s mad how these scammers manage to take money from our accounts without us noticing straight away.

About three years back, I visited a Fitness First gym in Bath as a visitor and had to hand over my phone number. Since then, the gym has changed ownership. Right before Christmas, I suddenly started getting spammy texts advertising fitness stuff. I blocked them straight away after the initial message. I raised the issue with my network, Three, who kindly refunded me £4.50, but said they couldn’t block all premium texts entirely. They mentioned I could text STOP to opt out, which should only cost 10p. I'll definitely be taking a close look at my next bill to make sure that’s true...

Got a text from 65888 and when I looked at my bill I called 02 to sort it. They told me to text ‘stop’ to that number to cancel it properly. At first they kept telling me I’d signed up and mentioned it’s a common issue for loads of people. Luckily, they gave me a refund in the end. Just a heads up, don’t just block the number - make sure you send ‘stop’ too.

Beware of this supposed 'receive text' service - they're just taking your money without any real service. Completely dodgy.

Each text costs £4.50, even the very first one they send unasked, plus when you reply with STOP to cancel, that message gets charged too.
