Received a text from 61111 saying someone sent money to my bank!! I checked and there's nothing in my account. Paym is a mobile payment thing, kinda like ‘pay a contact’ in your banking app. But looks like Paym is getting used by scammers now. I just wish I was good with tech, I’d track them down and hack their systems or something. All these scammers are a nightmare! Why can’t the government do more to stop them? They’ve got the best security around, but still can’t seem to catch these pests and shut them down? It boggles my mind.

61111 is a total scam, got a text saying it was from Google about someone trying to send me money via Google Pay. Complete con! If you reply, you end up paying through the nose on your phone bill. This number is one of them premium lines, but they dont say that in the message anywhere. I dont even use the app they’re talking about or signed up for it. Totally a scam. If I replied to the number, they probably would have stopped me, but I’d end up paying loads for each text I sent back. Proper sneaky charge trap.

This number is definitely a premium rate one, but they never mention that in their message. They tried telling me I got money through some app I’ve never even signed up for. Total scam. If I’d replied to their message to stop it, I’d probably have been hit with charges for every text I sent back, on top of the initial premium cost.

Got a text saying someone was sending me money via Paym. There wasn’t any dodgy link in the message, but I still deleted it and blocked the number just in case. Then I thought maybe it was my daughter trying to pay me back some cash she owes. It seemed odd though, cos we never spoke about using that app before. I asked her about it and she said, “Come on, do you want your money or what? 😄” So it turned out to be legit after all.

This isn’t a scam at all. Paym is actually a legit project backed by 15 UK banks. The number 61111 that texts you is legit too, usually it’s to let you know about a payment or to remind you to activate the service through your online banking.

i had a chat with shaun from asda mobile and told him they really ought to sort out their system so numbers like 61111 dont keep popping up and sending scam texts. its worrying to think about people who might be more at risk getting these messages. if alot of us ring asda mobile on 0800 079 2732 and keep pushing them, maybe theyll finally take action.

They claimed my home was being watched and went on with loads of threatening nonsense. Honestly, not happy about it. These callers just want to scare vulnerable folks and they should really feel guilty for doing that!

I've just received a rather dubious text from 61111 claiming that someone wished to send me a payment through something that vaguely resembled PayPal. Curiously, it provided me with the option to opt out, but didn't specify the method or even include a simple "STOP" command. When I hastily typed 'stop' and attempted to send it, a warning popped up indicating that I would incur a charge for the message, which made me think twice. I swiftly deleted the message instead. Has anyone else encountered something similar? Frankly, I find it hard to believe that anyone would be keen to part with their money and send it my way!
