Sounds like a dodgy call pretending to be from BT, be careful!

Looks like they’re hitting you with a premium MMS charge. If your mobile plan doesn’t cover it, you could get stung for anywhere between £1 and £5 if you reply. Feels a bit dodgy, like a scam to me.

Hi, this is BT. We tried reaching you because someone is trying to transfer the phone line at your place as of 30-Oct-2023. If this sounds right, just reply YES, if not, reply NO. For a chat, ring us on 0330 1234 150. Cheers. I’m switching over to EE soon, but I've gotten a similar message on a different number, so I’m not sure if this one’s legit, so just ignoring it for now.

Got another call claiming to be from BT, saying they want to switch our phone number starting September. Bit fishy if you ask me.

Got a text from BT about switching my internet service. Since we’re changing providers, it might be genuine. Still, I’m not going to reply just in case it costs me something.

Got a text saying it was from BT, but I'm pretty sure it was a scam. Didn't click any links or anything, just ignored it. Seems to be one of those phishing attempts. Watch out if you get something similar!

I just got a text from 60118 saying they're from BT, telling me someone else wants to take over my phone line on 29th June 2021. They asked me to reply yes if I was fine, or no if it wasn’t correct, and offered a number to ring if I wanted to discuss it. I didn’t request this at all, seems like a right scam to me!
