60076 Summary (Read all comments)

Phone number ☎️ 60076 👆 is reported as a premium-rate text service frequently mistaken for the genuine DVLA site. Users searching for vehicle tax or MOT information have been unexpectedly charged around £8.33 to £10, often without clear notification. The service sends unsolicited texts with reminders, leading to recurring subscription fees. Many customers express frustration over hidden charges and difficulty obtaining refunds, though some report success by contacting the company or their mobile provider and texting STOP to the shortcode. Mobile networks have blocked the number for some users but caution is urged as charges may recur. Users are advised to verify websites carefully, contact providers to block premium texts, and report suspicious activity to regulatory authorities.

I've noticed a charge of £8.33 on my account, and I haven't a clue what it's for. Could someone please guide me on how to sort out a refund? Cheers!

Much like some of the other folks here, I presumed I was dealing with the legitimate DVLA website. To my surprise, I was also hit with an £8.33 fee!

I received a rather dodgy text regarding my vehicle tax, claiming I’d been charged a tenner. Clearly a scam! They provided a phone number from 3, stating that I somehow subscribed to this, which is absolutely not the case. The number was 02381010505.

I’ve recently discovered a mysterious charge of £8.33 for a premium service that I never subscribed to in the first place! After reaching out to O2’s customer support, they instructed me to send "STOP" to the number 60076. I received a reply confirming my unsubscription, but the thing is, I never signed up for it to begin with! It’s incredibly frustrating! 😭

Im another person who got charged £10 for an MOT reminder after using the DVLA site. I reported it to both DVLA/DVSA and Vodafone, who blocked all premium rate texts but wouldn’t give a refund. I also contacted Surestream / Vehicleinformation[###], and just got a 'free text' saying they will refund through the Post Office. Im not really convinced tho. Has anyone actually got their money back?

This number looks like it grabs info from the DVLA site and then sends a text (mine came just before midnight on New Year's Eve) that charges you £8 plus VAT, so £10 added to your bill! Vodafone were really helpful - they blocked the number and gave me a refund straight away. I honestly think the DVLA should take action here - it’s basically stealing your details and billing you without any heads up. I’d say report it to your network straight away. Like others have said, all the info is free from the DVLA but I reckon that’s where these scammers are pulling it from, so watch out!

I got scammed as well. I was totally convinced that I was on the official DVLA site when I made the payment. I only realised there was a charge when I saw my phone bill. When I called the company, they wouldn’t assist and said the fees were clearly mentioned on their website. I never saw any info about extra charges anywhere.

I recently noticed a £10 deduction from my account for a premium text message I didn’t even request. It seems connected to my MOT renewal, which is quite baffling.

I reached out online to check if the car insurance was genuine. They replied via text with details about my MOT expiry and the end date of my insurance, but then I found myself £10 lighter! My mobile provider even messaged me to notify me about the charge. Quite the cheeky situation I must say; it feels a bit unfair getting charged for their messages. I've since had my provider block those premium numbers to avoid further surprises.

I noticed an £8.33 charge on my phone bill from the number mentioned above. I wasn't aware that this would incur a fee; otherwise, I would have definitely opted out. Could someone please advise me on how to block this number and process a refund? Thank you very much!

Could you kindly share how you managed to obtain a refund? My daughter’s bill for this month includes a charge for it, and any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Got a text from 60076. The only thing me and my partner can figure is we checked out webuyanycar[###] a few months before this message popped up.

My daughter got tricked out of £10 through a fake DVLA website. I've just contacted Vodafone and requested they block all premium text messages, which they’ve now done. I reckon phone providers should have this set as the default, and only unblock it if you specifically ask. Loads of cash must be getting ripped off like this, it’s got to end and the phone firms definitely have the means to prevent it!!!

I've noticed an £8.33 charge on my bill, and I'm a bit puzzled about what it could be. Can anyone shed light on this? Moreover, what steps should I take to resolve the issue?

Got charged £10.01 on my Three bill, total rip off. This needs to be looked into by the police and treated as fraud for sure.

Can’t believe the scam, and the fact it just gets added to your phone bill too? Absolutely crazy. I don’t get how or why the phone companies let this slip through.

Noticed £10 taken from my husband’s Vodafone bill from a text number 60076. No clue how this appeared, we haven’t signed up for anything like that. We did recently renew the car tax for both ours and my husband’s car via the DVLA website. I contacted the company by email and got a response the next day saying they’d send a refund via the post office. Still waiting on that. Meanwhile, we’ve blocked all premium numbers on our mobiles just in case. Definitely feels like a scam!!!!

I got hit with a £10 fee too, total rip off! Proper nasty scam, glad places like this are around to help us spot these cheats.

Avoid ringing any number starting with 0238 because it's a premium line. I emailed them asking for a refund since I never consented to receiving texts, and they told me the money would be sent back through the post office. Still waiting on that refund. I've also reported it to O2! They must be raking in loads from people who don’t keep an eye on their phone bills.

Just like loads of others have said, [#]vehicleinformation[###] is a complete waste and sneaky with their fees. I sent them an email at [email protected][###] asking for my money back. They said they’d sort it but I’m still waiting to find out if they actually will.

I'm in the same boat as many others - I never signed up for any subscription, yet they've managed to take money from my mobile bill! When I first came across their website, I genuinely believed it was an official government site. Total con artists, if you ask me!

I was just trying to check my daughter’s tax and MOT, something I’ve done loads before. Nowhere did it say I’d be charged or that it was a premium number. Proper scam in my opinion, especially since all that info is free from the DVLA anyway. I sent STOP to 60076 and they confirmed they got it.

I got hit with a £10 charge on my most recent bill as well. I checked the DVLA website for my car tax and MOT info, and requested a reminder, but I honestly thought that was a DVLA service, not some random firm charging me £10. I've contacted them now, and they're sorting a refund via the post office, but this really shouldn’t have happened at all. Loads of folks will sign up for this thinking it's free or official, then end up paying without realising, which I bet is how they profit. I’ve also complained to the DVLA and asked them to look into it properly.

I noticed a deduction of £8.33 from my account in both April and May 2017, but I’m quite baffled as to what it was for. It appears to be linked to the number 60076, which I received as a text. Can anyone shed some light on this?

Quick update - I got a reply to my emails pretty much straight away and they admitted that it’s a one-off £10 fee for a 12-month reminder service, which they do say has a cost (bit fishy). I'm just another person trying to tax my car through the DVLA and then spotting a £10 fee on my phone bill. I did get a text message but didn't pay much attention, since you never expect to be hit with a £10 charge like that! Seems it's really simple to fall into this trap from the DVLA site. Watch out - don’t input any info if a link from the DVLA site redirects you somewhere else. I've sent emails to the two addresses mentioned above asking for my money back. I'll let you know what happens.

I’ve been hit with a £10 charge for a text message that doesn’t even have a name attached to it. I’ve no clue who it’s from! Is there anyone out there who can help me identify the sender? I’d like to pursue a refund. Much appreciated!

I've been hit with an unexpected charge of £8.33, and to say I'm irritated would be an understatement. I didn't utilise this service at all! Does anyone know the steps I need to follow to secure a refund? I'd really appreciate any guidance.

Fraudulent activity! I’ve never visited their website or signed up for anything. Out of the blue, I received a text message which I didn’t respond to, yet they somehow charged me £8.33 plus VAT, bringing the total to £10. I lodged a complaint and thankfully managed to get my money back. Just a heads up to everyone-stay alert!

www.vehicleinformation.uk - I signed up to check the MOT status of a car I was buying, not realising it would cost me £10. Honestly, I missed the part where it said there’s a monthly fee. To be fair, the website does mention the £10 charge but it’s easy to overlook. I wouldn’t suggest anyone use them since you can get the same info for free from the .Gov.uk site. I contacted my mobile network (I’m with Three), and they told me to text "STOP" to the number and they refunded the £10 back to me.

I recently noticed a deduction of £10.00 (inclusive of VAT) from this number, and I’m utterly baffled as to what the charge pertains to. I was merely trying to find out the due date for my MOT. Now I’m feeling a bit anxious that they might try to extract more funds from my account. I reached out to Vodafone for assistance, and they directed me to ring 02381010505 for a full refund. However, I’m hesitant to make that call, given that I’ve come across numerous accounts suggesting they might drain more cash from me. Is there any truth to these claims?

This definitely looks like a scam, their website is built to look a lot like the DVLA’s, and the initial contact info listed is actually the DVLA's own. I've unfortunately fallen victim to a scam involving this number. They managed to take £8.33 from me for a text that claimed to remind me about my car tax being due. The twist? I never signed up for such a service at all! In reality, my vehicle is exempt from tax due to its low emissions. It's baffling how these scammers acquire such personal information; I can only assume it's harvested from the DVLA when one updates their details online. Last month, I stumbled upon a rather perplexing charge of £8.33 on my phone bill from the number 60076. Curious, I reached out to O2, and they dug a bit deeper for me, revealing it to be a premium rate line. I swiftly texted “stop” to the number, yet the charges kept rolling in. You see, I had tried to conduct a vehicle check online, mistakenly believing it was a legit service linked to the DVLA when I entered my registration details. It completely slipped my mind until the bill landed on my doormat. Just a friendly warning to everyone - exercise caution when navigating online, as these scammers seem to dominate the search results.

I got caught out recently, and to be honest, I'm not even quite sure how it happened. According to Vodafone, this service is supposedly on the up and up, much like those quiz lines and the like. Mine was a reminder for my MOT. I can understand a fee of £10 for certain services, but they ought to make it crystal clear to consumers; otherwise, it feels awfully like a scam, and I've fallen victim to it! Vodafone offers the chance to block all third-party calls and they even provide the name and number of the offending company. For me, it was Surestreamdigital.com, calling from 02381010505, and I got taken in by a number starting with 60076. (Yours might be something else entirely!) I've jotted down their email, [email protected], and I'm going to try to reach them for a refund. If I have no luck, I'll be turning to Trading Standards for help. We really need to nip this in the bud before it spirals even further out of control.

I sent a message saying STOP to 60076 but was uncertain whether it would actually do anything. I reached out to O2, and they helped me by blocking the service, so now there's no chance anyone can collect money just because they have my mobile number. Admittedly, this does mean I can’t contribute to charities in this manner anymore, but at least I can rest easy knowing my information is secure.
