I received a call today from someone who spoke to me as though we were old chums. He introduced himself as being from tech support regarding my virus protection, claiming it was in need of an update. Honestly, anyone with a modicum of common sense understands that most antivirus software automatically updates or sends a reminder when the subscription's about to expire. When I inquired, “Which virus programme are you referring to?” he proceeded to list a few without pinpointing one that I might actually possess. Upon pressing him once more about the specific software I have, he was utterly at a loss. I rather curtly informed him that I don’t use any of the programmes he rattled off before wishing him a pleasant day. Just because I'm over seventy doesn't mean I lack wit!
