So, I got a call from someone claiming to be with the Treasury Dept saying I owed money to the IRS. When I said I was gonna report them to the IRS and FBI, they started swearing at me and then just hung up. Quite cheeky if you ask me!

Dont ever call back anyone sayin theyre from the IRS. Government folks always send you a letter first, never ring you up. Just ditch their number and block it straight away.

So, they rang me again! I’ve just blocked the number. The IRS doesn’t call like that if you have outstanding taxes; they always send a letter first. They threatened saying "get your lawyer on the phone or we’ll issue a warrant." That’s completely bogus. Definitely not how the real process goes.

Today I got a phone call from 347-391-6799 saying I had some old tax debts with the IRS from previous years. It was pretty unexpected.

They kept saying there was a warrant on me but never actually used my name. Not sure what that was about really. They sounded like they were trying to say it was some kind of American agency or something, but it was all pretty dodgy. I’m just glad they never got too specific.

I’m 63 and I have no idea why these calls keep coming through. Every time I ring back, it just says they can’t take the call at the moment, then asks you to leave your name and number. What’s the deal with that? It’s really confusing.
