She had an Indian accent and was quite hard to catch. Kept going on about investments, commodities and some user experience stuff. Then she asked if I’m online daily. I told her only when necessary, said no thanks and hung up.

Later, I tried ringing it back but the number was invalid and wouldn’t connect. Be careful, this looks like a scam. I have all withheld numbers blocked already and can’t figure out how they managed to call from such a short number! Definitely don’t answer these calls, just ignore them!

My work’s 0906 premium after-hours support line got a call from this number. I ended up chatting for quite a while with a Russian bloke who was going on about CFD and Forex trading programmes - apparently you could get started with a minimum deposit of a couple thousand dollars. I tried to keep him talking for as long as I could, got 17 minutes and 4 seconds out of him. At £1.53 a minute, it wasn’t a terrible price for a cuppa break really.

They've set up their system so they can make any number show up on your caller ID. You could get a ring from 07899 845074, but that number isn’t even active. If you don’t pick up, they just switch to another fake number. I’m so fed up with getting calls like this! It’s definitely a scam.

Seems to me this is a total scam. Any genuine business in the UK would leave a voicemail if you didn’t answer, but these lot just won't. Also, no proper UK phone provider would let you call from a dodgy number like that one - it’s not even a real number. Best not to share any info with them. Try asking for details like “What accident? When did it happen?” and watch them cut you off before you get a word in.

I received a call from a number ending in +34000, and it was from a chap I’ve previously called out for his appalling treatment of women and children. After blocking his other contacts, he’s resorted to using this number in a bid to intimidate me. His name’s ANDY MCCOLLOCH, and he's currently evading the authorities in the Republic of Ireland, having fled from the UK law enforcement. What a piece of work!
