However, faintly in the back, I overheard what sounded like a call centre with a few blokes speaking English with Indian accents, telling people their computers were sending signals and offering help to sort it out. Total scam run by the same lot, just using a new number and name. He asked me to go on my PC so he could show me this hidden virus, even though he had no clue about what kind of computer I own or what antivirus I use. He kept pushing me to log in so he could “prove” the virus was there and tell me what damage it might be causing. When I asked him why he needed access, he got more pushy and demanded I let him connect while we spoke.
