They did call, but I had already nodded off. The website did mention that they'd attempt up to three calls before asking you to submit the request again. This number rang my mum at 4 in the morning saying an ambulance was on its way to take her for a test, even though she hadn’t asked for one. She told them to cancel as she wasn’t aware of any appointment and wasn’t about to get into an ambulance at that time. After a couple more calls, it became obvious the caller wasn’t messing about. Still, my mum insisted she wouldn’t get into an ambulance without her medic informing her first. It turns out the caller was just trying to arrange for our GP surgery to contact my mum later to talk things through.
