I’ve been getting calls from a few strange numbers like (23456789), 012345678, and some other ‘missing’ or private ones. When I picked up one of these, they told me I’d been chosen to receive a big payout from the government - something like over ten grand. I played along to see what they’d say next. They said they worked for the treasury department and even rattled off my name, address, and phone number correctly. Then they asked for the last four digits of my social security number. I refused to give it, and right after that they hung up straight away. I’m convinced this is a scam, so watch out!

After some calls, I get weird texts from 9016 telling me to ring an 800 number, but nobody actually picks up or leaves a message. It’s relentless and driving me mad. No clue why this muppet keeps ringing my number, but like loads of folks here, I’ve been getting hammered with calls for the past few days. They come like clockwork, every hour or so, even in the middle of the night - which screams robocall to me - and honestly, it’s driving me mad. I sometimes wonder if picking up triggers something - like they make money off it or get access to your info or something? Weird that they show up on caller ID without any area code too.
