The mobile number that sent me the text is 0424 821 549. Prior to that, a chap named Mr. Lachlan rang me from some undisclosed number, followed by a call from this number: 03 8643 5537. Hello there! I've had the odd experience of receiving seven voicemails from this particular number. Curiously enough, every message was left by a different operator. I've chosen not to return the calls, especially given the concerning reports I've stumbled upon regarding this number. Each voicemail mentioned a reference number and insisted it was of great importance. Cheers for the warning!

I received several identical messages lately, along with a call this morning from the number 0392252084. The caller claimed to represent NCML. He spoke in a very polite tone, trying to sound quite genuine. He requested my personal details, to which I firmly replied that I wasn’t comfortable sharing any information over the phone. He seemed insistent yet evasive, insisting that he needed my information before disclosing the purpose of his call. Subsequently, he mentioned that he would send me a text message (and indeed I received the same text yet again) and suggested I look up NCML online. However, the 1300 number they provided doesn't seem legitimate. I attempted to reach NCML myself but was met with silence - perhaps they're inundated with calls! I strongly suspect this is a scam, so please proceed with caution!

I received a rather concerning phone call from a woman claiming to represent MCL on behalf of the Government. Naturally, I was wary of divulging any personal information as I wasn't familiar with her. Subsequently, she followed up with a text from the number +61406652722, which read: "Dear [Your Name], I have an urgent matter that requires your attention. Yesterday, I received a rather suspicious message, and instantly recognised it for what it was - a SCAM, so I decided to overlook it. However, out of sheer curiosity, I just rang the number. To my surprise, I got a recorded message from a woman’s automated voice, stating it was a public holiday, even though it was only 8:30 EST! This piqued my interest, leading me to do a bit of digging into the number. To my astonishment, I came across numerous comments about the very same SCAM. It's absolutely outrageous how these fraudsters persist in their deceitful antics, preying on unsuspecting individuals.

I had a rather similar experience, only they rang my workplace. They threw around some vague details about me, nothing too specific, mind you. Claimed they were reaching out on behalf of a certain Government Department and needed further information. The woman on the line insisted she was unable to divulge much more due to privacy regulations.
