Beware! This number is definitely a con.

I just got a rather suspicious letter, instructing me to ring this number within certain hours about an urgent issue. Strangely, the letter had no official letterhead or any indication of who sent it. After a quick search online, I stumbled upon numerous discussions across various forums, all mentioning similar experiences. Safe to say, I'm steering clear and won't be giving them a call. Absolute scam!

Oh, what a coincidence! We discovered that we share the same surname and address, yet the first name they have is completely unfamiliar to us. Seems a bit off, if you ask me. I certainly shan't be giving them a ring!

I called this number to request information regarding my account since I believed I had no outstanding debts. Yet, I'm still waiting for a response! Surprisingly, they've taken it upon themselves to slap a default onto my credit report. There’s absolutely no basis for this, as I’ve never accepted any debt from them. What a frustrating situation!

I received a call from what they identified as Bay Corp, yet the number directed me to Bancorp instead. They were insisting that I had a default account and requested my banking information to settle a so-called debt. When I probed further, asking for proof in the form of my Telstra account-considering I've not been with them for more than eight years-they failed to provide any documentation. To make matters worse, this has been flagged on my credit report as a default, which is absolutely erroneous.

I received a missed call from someone claiming to represent Bay Corp, urging me to ring back on 1300 139 203. I was rather baffled as to what this was concerning. To ensure I was playing it safe, I decided to return the call using the number listed on their website instead of the one they had provided. The person on the other end was unable to assist me and after what felt like an eternity on hold, I was connected to another individual, seemingly at a different branch, who simply requested my date of birth. I wasn't comfortable sharing that, and when I pressed for clarification, she informed me that she couldn't disclose any details at all. Instead, I provided them with a P.O. Box address for any correspondence and now I'm left anxiously awaiting whatever they might send my way.

I’ve just gotten a rather odd letter, devoid of any official letterhead, claiming to be from Baycorp regarding a decade-old bill that I’ve already settled. I specifically requested them to provide me with the details of this account they assert we owe them, and strangely, I’ve heard nothing back. To top it off, it seemed to be sent by a woman of Asian descent. Quite puzzling, to say the least!

I ended up giving them a ring, but their request for my personal details struck me as rather dubious. The woman on the line mentioned she’d get back to me, most likely because I wasn’t much assistance after I declined to share any information. Quite fishy if you ask me!

A reputable business ought to provide correspondence on official letterhead and ensure all details are spot-on, especially concerning the issue at hand. Otherwise, it’s just a load of nonsense. There’s an abundance of con artists and fraudulent schemes roaming about, so one must be cautious...

I received a rather peculiar letter today (12-12-2016) that had no official letterhead and was addressed to me as "Private and Confidential." The letter urged me to call the number 1300558829 regarding a so-called “urgent matter.” Out of curiosity, I decided to give them a ring. An Asian woman answered the phone and asked for my date of birth for verification. I firmly declined, stating, "I have no intention of disclosing personal information to strangers," emphasising my concerns about identity theft. She insisted it was necessary to confirm my identity. I countered by mentioning that she'd reached out to me first and even referenced a file number from her letter. However, she refused to divulge any details about the matter at hand. Frustrated, I decided to hang up.

I too have had a rather disconcerting experience with a phone call concerning an outstanding bill from an electricity supplier, dating back a good six years. I’m quite hesitant to share any of my personal information with them, as I’ve stumbled upon various reviews that suggest this company, Baycorp, might not be entirely legitimate. On one occasion, I received a call from a lady of Asian descent who posed similar questions to those mentioned by others, and just the other day, a different chap rang up with yet more inquiries. It leaves me feeling bewildered and wary, as it seems these callers are preying on individuals who might be more gullible, aiming to extract money from unsuspecting customers. I'm baffled as to why, after all this time, they’ve decided to pursue this matter again when, to the best of my knowledge, there was supposed to be a resolution reached years ago once the repayments ceased.

I just got a call from this number, and they mentioned that I have an outstanding bill of £1500 for AGL. They've also sent me a letter urging me to give them a ring about an urgent issue. Does anyone have a clue about what's going on with this?

A few days back, my daughter answered a call from this number. She mentioned that the caller's accent suggested he was of Asian descent. He requested some personal information from her, including her address; she provided it, but he claimed it wasn’t correct. Oddly, he then brought up a different town she used to live in. Curious about the call’s purpose, she asked for clarification, but he evasively replied that he couldn't divulge any information. Shortly thereafter, one of her friends reached out to inform her that a letter had arrived from a Body Corp Collection Agency, notably lacking a proper signature at the end. The letter simply instructed her to get in touch with that same number.

Today, I got my hands on a rather mysterious letter marked 'Private and Confidential,' prompting me to call the number 1300558829. The footer indicated it was from "Baycorp (Aust) Pty Ltd." When I dialled the number, an Asian gentleman on the other end requested the reference number from the letter. After I shared that, he informed me that he needed my date of birth to access the file. Alarm bells went off in my head at that moment, and I firmly declined to provide any personal information. I can't shake the feeling that this could be a clever ruse for identity theft.

My mother recently got this letter delivered, and I must say, I’m utterly appalled by the audacity of these scammers using a postal address to peddle their deceit. Thankfully, I was on hand when she opened it. I really appreciate everyone who’s been vocal about this issue; it’s so important to share these experiences.

Absolutely, I just got a similar call myself. The first name they mentioned was completely wrong, so it's clearly dodgy. The number was just a single digit away from the genuine Baycorp debt collection agency. Where on earth can one go to report these sorts of things?
