The other day, I received a text message which I chose to disregard. Then, just a couple of days later, I got a call with the rather peculiar display of ‘No Number’, claiming to be from BOQ. They had the audacity to know my name and wanted me to confirm my date of birth, which I outright refused. I told them I wouldn’t be divulging any personal details due to the rampant scams these days. They then suggested I ring 1300 557 272. Interestingly, I had a similar experience with Norton Anti-Virus before, where they wanted me to input a string of letters and numbers into the Start window of my computer. Naturally, I refused that as well. Just goes to show, there are plenty of scammers out there!

I promptly explained that due to the increase in scams, I wouldn’t be sharing any personal details with them. They suggested that I ring 1300 557 272 instead. It reminded me of an earlier instance with Norton Anti Virus when they requested I enter a series of letters and numbers into my computer's Start menu, which I also turned down without hesitation.
