I ended up forking out £36, and I have no clue who these con artists are. I reached out to Optus and sorted out a block on the number.

I’ve been grappling with an issue regarding my son's phone, as this dubious group has been bombarding his number with messages. My son, bless him, has been none the wiser and simply deleting them without a second thought. However, upon going through the latest bill from his mobile provider, I was absolutely floored to discover he had racked up charges exceeding £100 for these unsolicited texts! A quick search on the number revealed it’s linked to some sort of subscription service for games and requires you to be over 18 - a right shambles, considering my lad is only just 15 and didn’t even realise what was going on. Now I've got the headache of contacting Optus to sort out this mess!
