We recently investigated an issue after noticing a £30 charge on my account, which happened to be linked to the number that the franking machine uses for re-crediting. We reached out to the provider of the machine and firmly requested an adjustment. Presently, we're on standby for a form that will allow us to switch this over to a National call number, which should work out to around 10 pence per minute, although that can vary based on the provider!

I'm trying to identify the origin of this number. I've noticed a charge of £30 on my account, but I can’t remember making any calls to it. When I've attempted to return the call, I only hear a strange noise, somewhat akin to a fax machine. Quite perplexing, really!

I wouldn't recommend returning a call to such a number. It turns out it was a "Super Premium" line, racking up charges at £1.47 a minute, VAT included. Seems quite deliberate, doesn’t it? They likely want to lure you into calling back. A lucrative little scheme for someone, if you ask me!

I wouldn’t recommend trying to call this number again. It appears to be a "Super Premium" service line, charging a whopping £1.47 a minute, VAT included. I suspect that’s exactly the point - they’re likely banking on people redialing. Definitely seems like a lucrative scheme for someone!
