I got a call from this number, turns out it’s a third-party service working for Connect You Ltd to help with TALKTALK stuff. They charge £3.60 a minute on top of your usual network fees, so be careful. If you need to get in touch with their support team, their phone number is 03330307990. I wasn’t even in the house when this number billed me £19 for just 5 minutes. When I spoke to TalkTalk, they reckoned it looked like a scam targeting their customers. After looking into it, they found a lot of what seemed like Chinese characters involved. Luckily, they gave me my money back.

I’m not sure what’s going on with my 84 year old mum’s phone. We had restrictions removed and then she got billed crazy amounts - like 13 minutes for £54 and 7 minutes for £30. She doesn’t recall making those calls, and her memory is fine. She did answer some odd calls though, and when she did, it kinda seemed like she was the one making the call. Strange stuff.

I’ve got no clue what’s going on. My 84 year old mum had some limits removed on her phone and suddenly there’s a £54 charge for 13 minutes and another £30 for 7 minutes. She doesn’t recall making any calls and her memory is fine. She did answer a few dodgy calls though, and when she picked up, it sounded like it was her making the outgoing calls. Really strange situation.

My 92-year-old grandma has no clue about this 84 minute call that went out and now theres a £304 charge on her bill. Sounds really fishy to me.

Had a look at my 89-year-old mum’s phone bill and noticed this odd charge. She only got hit for £1.77, so I guess she was pretty lucky. No doubt it’s a scam. Thankfully she’s quite savvy about these things, but honestly, just like everyone else, we all have to stay careful.

My gran's been with O2 and just got hit with a £189 phone bill for calls she never made. Proper shocking!

I found this number online when I wanted to ring British Gas. I ended up getting through to someone who sounded like they were from there, but what confused me was the bill - it was £31 for just 7 minutes! There was nothing to say it would be expensive like that beforehand, so I’m a bit baffled how that happened.

This number has charged me more than £50, and Virgin are currently investigating the issue. I wasn’t even home when the call supposedly happened, so there’s no way I made it.

I kept getting calls from this number late at night when I was fast asleep and ended up being charged £106 by 02 for it. I told 02 it’s clearly a scam, but they insisted I pay the bill anyway. Honestly, I’m really annoyed and can’t believe they treated it like a normal charge.

I got charged on my phone bill for calls from 09040129043 and made two calls. The first one was £9.99, but then the second was a crazy £80.99! I'm really freaked out, it all happened around mid-October. I recall a lady from Talk Talk rang me that day. Fingers crossed the police manage to nab these scammers soon.

My phone bill showed a charge for the number 0940129053, and it took £50 off me. I’ve got no clue who it is or why I’d call that number. I tried looking it up to figure out who it belongs to, but no luck at all. Really confusing, and I don’t think I ever dialled it.

Avoid this number at all costs! I picked up once and ended up paying £32 for just 6 minutes. Total scam, don’t fall for it!

Got a call claiming they had a package for me, but said I had to pay €3. They asked for my card info, and if you looked closely at the tiny text below, it said I'd be charged €42 each month. No way was I falling for that, so I didn’t give them anything!

Just got a new phone line set up on the 29th of May, but apparently there were calls made on the 17th of May from number 09040129043. Talk Talk told me they noticed two calls: the first one charged around £5, and the second hit us with about £31. Feels dodgy to me, really like some kind of scam. The woman on the phone with Talk Talk suggested the call was from Scotland, though I don’t see how since that’s not a proper area code or anything. Pretty strange all round.

It seems I've accidentally rung this number three times in one day and ended up being charged a staggering £65! I've got no recollection of doing so whatsoever. What a complete con!

I see two charges on my bill, £13.30 and £31.23, for a couple of calls that lasted about 11 minutes altogether. The strange thing is, I don’t recognise the number and I’m pretty sure I never dialled it. I’m worried about calling it back again because of how expensive it looks. Now I’m just hoping there’s some way to get a refund for these calls.
