Got a call claiming they were from my energy company, but it was just a trick. They hit me with a ridiculous fee for what was barely a minute on the phone. Totally a con, best to just ignore it.

I noticed this number on my phone statement after I thought I’d rung our energy provider right when we were moving to give the meter reading. When the bill arrived, I called the energy company and they said they don’t use any numbers starting with 090. The bill showed £22.26 for just 5 minutes - absolutely ridiculous! I’m not sure how this scam works exactly, but something has to be done. There should be a limit on phone bills to prevent anyone accidentally calling 090 numbers or getting stung like this, it’s really the only way to protect people.

No clue who this person is but somehow I've been billed.

I didn't realise this number tried calling me back and it ended up costing me quite a bit for just a few seconds on the line. Only spotted it after going through my phone bill. Just a heads up to anyone else!
