I rang HMRC using 03453003900 but the call ended up being charged to 09037086466. I was kept waiting for ages, like over 13 minutes, and then got stung nearly £50. Is that even allowed? Seems wrong to me, but who’s going to argue with HMRC or the government anyway? It’s bad enough for families struggling to pay bills without these ridiculous call costs. It’s crazy how much it costs to ring HMRC. My lad called them and was kept waiting for about 20 minutes. Now our phone bill has gone up by an extra £77! Honestly, this needs sorting out soon.
