There was this ITV3 contest with a crazy long time to enter, and the password clue was dead easy. I kept dialing the number but it just hung up before it even started ringing. And I never managed to get on the website before the competition ended. Proper frustrating!

On the 24th of July, around 10:09 pm, my mum ended up getting charged £15.08 for a call that lasted just under 4 minutes to a TV competition. I can’t quite remember what the ad claimed about the cost, but that seemed way too pricey to me!

The number they put on the telly doesn’t say anywhere it’ll cost you £7 a call. And you can tell the answer is normally the third option down.

A few days ago, I seen a number on TV, 09023751000, but I can’t quite recall if it was on BBC or some other channel - it might have been on the Saturday, around the 25th March. The ad was for some lottery thing and showed this chart filled with letters arranged in squares. Within the jumble, the words ‘heartbeat’ and ‘sunflower’ stood out pretty clearly. They mentioned there was a top prize and another prize that was over £9,000 or something like that. To enter, you supposedly had to ring that number and when someone answered you had to say the TV show ‘heartbeat’ and then the flower name ‘sunflower’. Honestly, I’m not one to pay attention to this sort of stuff, but on a whim I decided to call in. They asked for my name and address, then made me say the answer to the first puzzle - which was heartbeat - followed by picking the flower from a list, sunflower was the one to pick. After that, they said I was officially in the lottery. The call was meant to cost £3.95 plus whatever your phone company charged. Sadly I can’t tell you who ran this lottery because I wasn’t really paying attention when the ad started. It all happened really fast and I just managed to jot down the phone number before the ad finished.
