They called me, stayed on the line but strange enough, I just caught this loud buzzing sound, almost like a recorder was on or something..

Got a call from someone claiming to be Virgin Media, telling me my TiVo box would stop working in a week. They wanted my bank details and sort code, but obviously, I didn't give them anything. Total scam.

I got a call from someone claiming to be from Sky asking for my husband’s name, his date of birth, and saying they’d send a new pin. Then they tried to get bank info from us, which we didn’t give. The moment they pushed for that, I just ended the call and made sure to report it to the bank straight away.

Got a call about a new Sky card, then they started wanting my birthday. So, I just kept going with silly questions until he gave up and ended the call. Guess I had too much free time!

Like some others have said, I was starting to trust the guy but then he asked for my bank info, so I just ended the call straight away.

They rang my mum pretending to be from Sky, telling her her card had to be replaced and asking for her bank info. They even tried to tempt her with a pensioner discount. Luckily, she didn't fall for it and refused to share anything. Sounds just like another scam story I read on this site before.

Got a call from a bloke with an Indian accent claiming he worked for Sky. He said they were sending out new Sky viewing cards and that they could lower our TV bills since we're OAPs. He asked for my age and bank info to sort it all out. Sounded really convincing, but I ended up hanging up. Definitely a scam, be careful!

Got a call from an Indian bloke warning me that my Sky viewing card was up for renewal in a week. He asked for my date of birth, which I gave, then he questioned if I was someone called David. I said no, and he then said he'd dialled the wrong number before hanging up. Definitely a scam, watch out.

Some bloke rang claiming he was with Sky, sounded pretty legit at first. Said my card was about to expire and they'd send a new box along (mind you, my box is barely two months old). I got a bit iffy and asked for a number to ring him back on, but all I heard was loads of office noise in the background. Then he just hung up on me. Definitely a scammer.

This morning, I got a call on our landline from this number, and they were asking for someone named Miss Burr. I said they’d dialed the wrong number, and they quickly apologised before hanging up. The voice sounded Indian, and there was a strange clicking noise in the background, kind of like they were using a payphone or something.

Just got a call from a woman with an Indian accent claiming she was from Sky. She said they were updating viewing cards and needed to confirm some security info. She even mentioned it would save me about £20 a month! I told her I doubted it was really Sky, and she said she'd send me a letter that I could complete and return. Tried calling Sky afterwards but the lines were busy. Luckily, I didn't give out any bank details. Still feels a bit dodgy to me though.

Never ever share your bank info or date of birth with them, it's 100% a con!

Had a bloke from India call me, asking for my bank info - proper cheeky! They really ought to have some pride and find an honest way to make a living like everyone else. I told him I was about to get new Sky cards and that he’d need to answer some security questions first. Told him to wake up earlier if he wants to catch me out, what a muppet!

Got a call from an Indian guy claiming my sky card was being replaced with a new one. He asked for my date of birth to verify who I was, and after some back and forth, I ended up giving it. Then he went on about how to activate the new card and asked for my sort code to confirm payments. That’s when I got suspicious and told him I thought it was a scam, but he kept denying it. Eventually, I just hung up on him. I later found his number saved on my phone and looked it up - turns out loads of others have had the same experience.

For the past three days, this number has been ringing me twice every day. Whenever I pick up, there's just music playing, no one talks. I got fed up and shouted some rude words before slamming the phone down. I reckon it might be some scam call.

I got a call from someone claiming my Sky card was about to expire in 10 days. They actually knew my name, but I told them Sky wouldn’t call me like this. Plus, there was a lot of background noise the whole time. Felt a bit dodgy to me.

Got a call earlier from this number, they said they were with Virgin Media. They mentioned something about a 20% saving if I signed up. Then they asked for my bank info which seemed off to me. They asked questions in a way that felt quite convincing, probably easy for some to fall for. I told them I’d ring Virgin myself to check and just hung up. Tried calling back, but obviously the line was switched off.

My elderly mum got a call from someone claiming to be TalkTalk, warning her that her TV service would be cut off. They asked for her bank details like sort code and account number because she’s on a pension. She was a bit suspicious and thankfully refused to give anything, even when they kept pushing for it. We’ve since reported these dodgy callers to TalkTalk. Definitely a scam trying to catch pensioners off guard!

Just like many others here, it was obviously a scam aiming to grab my bank info. When they asked for my date of birth, I told them I wasn’t going to share that. The bloke said thanks and mentioned I’d get an email soon. Honestly, any thick-accented guy from India or Pakistan who struggles with my name and then calls himself "Ron" is very lucky I didn’t give him a mouthful.

They called me once, and I just stayed silent. Turns out, they didn’t end the call and I overheard loads of people pretending to be from Sky chatting to others. It was quite obvious it was a bunch of scammers.

Called me up sayin my Sky bill was bein cut since I’m on a pension. I mentioned they usually send info through email or post. She claimed the letter got lost but still wanted my bank details. I wasn’t having any of it and told her to buzz off. She had a weird accent and you could hear loads of noise like it was some hectic call centre behind her.

Got a call from this number just now, but didn’t pick up. After seeing what others have said, I’m defo not answering if they call again. Thankfully my phone reads out the caller ID, so I knew who it was. Just to be clear, we don’t subscribe to Sky or anything like that.

Got a call from a guy who said his name was Jason, sounded Indian, claiming my Sky viewing card was about to expire in a week. He told me Sky would be sending a replacement, and to activate it, he gave me a PIN. He knew my name and address, which made me a bit wary, so when he asked for my date of birth, I gave him a made-up one. Then he went on about already having my credit or debit card info from Sky, and that all he needed now was my bank sort code and account number. I just ended the call there. Sounds like a total load of rubbish to me.

Got a call saying my Sky viewing card would expire in 30 days and that a new one was on its way. They obviously knew my name, address and postcode. When they asked for my birthdate, I mentioned Sky never asks for that. The person then claimed to be from the card department. I told them I’d be contacting Sky directly and reporting this number to the fraud team. They sounded pretty legit but something didn’t feel right.

So, this lady claiming she was with Sky called asking for me. She said my card was nearly expired and to renew it I'd need to give her my debit card info. I told her I didn’t have my card nearby. Then she said I should fetch it and she’d wait on the line. I kept telling her I wasn’t going to share my card details or go get the card. Before hanging up, she said she’d ring me again tomorrow and I had better have my card ready! Up to now, I haven’t had any call back from her.
