I've experienced precisely that as well. Initially, I believed it was Virgin, and had a chat with someone who sounded like they were part of the Virgin team. Ended up being charged a whopping £13 for the call, yet when I followed up with Virgin, they claim there's no record of any such call! Quite baffling, isn’t it?

I was under the impression I was ringing Virgin Media, only to find I was stung with a £13 bill for the call. Now, Virgin is insisting it wasn’t them and labelled it a scam! Yet I distinctly remember chatting with a Virgin representative that very day, and the number I dialled is this pesky 0871. How bewildering!

Got a call from David using this number, claiming to be with Virgin and wanting me to turn on my computer, something about Windows but it was all a bit unclear.
I hung up twice, telling him I wasn’t interested, but then he called back two more times. I just ignored it after that. Felt pretty pushy and a bit scary, honestly. No clue what company he was actually from.

This number rang me earlier and since I'm self employed, I thought it might be a client, so I called back. Turns out, I ended up spending £4.50 in just a few minutes only to tell them I’m not interested in any PPI claims. Bit of a waste if you ask me!
