every month on the 16th at around 6:40 in the morning, this number would ring from my business, and each call ended up costing me £23.

I keep seeing this number pop up on my usually pretty cheap landline bill, along with 0871 711 1224. Both calls happened at 5.54 in the morning on Christmas Day. Thing is, I wasn’t even home then and never answered the phone. When I got back, there weren’t any messages on the answerphone. One call was about 2 minutes 15 seconds long and somehow I got charged for them both.

This number has appeared on our phone bill as one that’s been dialled via a fax line. Strangely enough, there hasn’t been a traditional phone connected to it-just a multifunctional printer that does printing, scanning, copying, and faxing. Our bill from BT indicates that this particular number was contacted using our fax machine.
