Every so often, my landline kept calling this number on its own, sometimes when no one was around or even dead in the middle of the night. The calls were super short, only like 6 seconds each time. I got in touch with my provider, Plusnet, to have a look into it. Maybe it’s our ADT alarm doing some kind of phone line check but it’s annoying cause we’re being charged 11p per call.

Each evening, the alarm dials ADT for a status update, and this can rack up considerable charges if you're signed up with TalkTalk or don’t have per-second billing.
