I picked up my landline just now and the caller asked for a Mr. …… I corrected them on my name, but they promptly disconnected the call. I tried to find out who it was by calling 1471, which revealed the number, but when I rang it back, I was told it wasn’t a valid number. Quite odd, really!

Its from some window company, they call pretty much any time day or night. My tip is just dont pick up and block their number. Also, they share your phone details around loads.

08708200842 - picked up and they were asking for a Mr Shafiq, told them that wasnt me. then they asked for a Mr Ahmed, again said no, and then wanted to know who i was. they didnt say who they were from either. i declined to give my name and when they asked why, i said 1. you have no clue who you're calling and 2. my phone flagged this number as possibly dodgy.

Help to buy calls are so annoying, these people just keep calling and never stop. Ive already blocked a bunch of their numbers, and this new one will just add to the list. If it’s anything like what someone said below about Help 2 Buy, then it’s just a scam. They’re probably pretending to be from some big, dodgy double glazing firm trying to rip people off.

Total scammer. Said he was from some windows and doors company and mentioned that cause I supposedly showed interest in getting windows and doors through a fund, I could get them fitted for free. I've never even thought about buying windows or doors, plus I’m just renting so no chance of any of that stuff. Definitely dodgy. Best to steer clear of this number.
