I stumbled upon a house listed for just 99. How is that even possible?

Absolutely the same situation here; I’ve never come across Pressplay before. I've already been in touch with our card issuer and flagged this as fraudulent activity. They’re in the process of issuing us a new card. I’m planning to reach out to the police next. Oh, and by the way, the transaction occurred at 8:46 in the morning. I was sound asleep at that hour!

We've noticed a deduction of £99.00 on our bank statement linked to House Shopping, with the number 08707870792. When we picked up the phone and rang the number to clarify our confusion about who these folks are, they assured us straight away that they'd process a refund. No hassle, no interrogation. One wonders if they had a bit of a guilty conscience, don’t you think?

It might be wise to get in touch with Ideal World and firmly request that they erase all your information, including any map-related data they have on file. There's a concern that your details could linger in their archives and potentially be shared or utilised by another company, possibly leading to unwanted charges on your card without your consent. Best to take action on this!

We've fallen victim to a scam, and it's truly infuriating. The phone number is exactly the same, and the sum they extracted from us mirrors what others have reported. We've never had any prior engagement with these con artists. Fortunately, we've informed our bank's fraud department, and they're looking into this matter as we speak.

I've just had a squint at our bank statement and noticed these absolute rascals have managed to pinch some cash from us too. Did any of you lot manage to get your funds returned after giving them a bell? We're fuming over here! How in the world do these dodgy characters get hold of our credit card information? We're hoping when we give them a call tomorrow, they’ll sort out a refund for us right away. Has anyone definitely seen the money back in their account? Would appreciate any updates! Cheers, Paul

Absolutely, we've fallen prey to this lot. I'm baffled as to how they managed to get hold of our credit card details. We’ve reached out to them, and they assured us that we would be reimbursed, but alas, we're still in limbo. The authorities have been informed; we've contacted the police, trading standards, and data protection. Both trading standards and data protection are currently on the case. I'll keep you posted as soon as we see any sign of our funds returning.

We've just received our refund today from a company called THE PRESSPLAY HOUSE SHOPPING CLUB. Their email is [email protected]. If you need to contact someone specific, it's a chap named PETER CARRUTHERS. Our LOCAL TRADING STANDARDS OFFICE has all the correspondence we've had with that company and they're looking into the matter. Plus, the data protection folks are keeping a close eye on them too. I'll keep you posted if I uncover any more information.

This month has been quite distressing for us, and we find ourselves still in limbo as we await an update from our bank regarding our funds of 99. It’s clear this was a fraudulent scheme, and it seems Ideal World is sharing our details with the scammers. It's rather frustrating, to say the least!

Absolutely not! I've never, at any point, made use of what's showing up on my bank statement, and yet there's money being taken out. Quite baffling!

I’ve been in touch with Pressplay and they’ve assured me that a refund is on its way. I also decided to contact the police; I strongly suggest you do the same and obtain a reference number. You can provide this to your credit card provider, which could potentially classify the situation as a reported scam and might increase your chances of getting your money back. It seems there’s a good chance this could be linked to some nefarious organised crime as well. Don’t forget to ensure that all of your security software, like anti-virus, ad-blockers, and spyware tools, are properly installed and up to date. Stay safe!

We’ve experienced something similar as well. We reached out to our credit card provider and asked them to look into it for us. Currently, we’re in a bit of a holding pattern, awaiting their response. In the meantime, those involved have halted the transaction. Once we receive more information from the bank, we plan to inform the authorities, the fraud department, and Trading Standards.

I spotted a deduction of £99 on our bank statement linked to House Shopping at 08707870792. As soon as we rang this number this morning at 9 AM, the BT operator informed us that it was unrecognizable. We then reached out to our card provider, shared the details of the situation, and they managed to connect us through. Apparently, they assured us that a refund would be processed since we’ve never had any dealings with them regarding holidays. Just how did they get hold of our card details? All they seemed to know was that we reside in Derbyshire.

A couple of weeks back, we noticed a deduction of £99 from our account. The strange thing is, we’ve had no phone calls or alerts from these people, and we don’t have a clue who they are. It really makes one suspect that Ideal World has shared our card information. Going forward, I won’t be engaging with them again!

Blimey, would you believe it! These chaps got hold of us back on the 3rd of October, 2008, for a cheeky £99. The moment we dialled them up, they were quick to claim they were a travel agency and assured us we'd get our cash back - no questions asked! Yet, when we probed about how they'd managed to get our banking details, the bloke just kept insisting they’d sort out the £99 refund. Our bank has already warned us there are a load of these dodgy schemes doing the rounds. I'll definitely be reporting this to the bobbies!

Our mother recently discovered an unexpected charge on her credit card. We've been informed that a dubious company is claiming they'll issue a refund. We've promptly reached out to the credit card provider and also alerted trading standards about this matter. It’s baffling how these individuals managed to obtain her card details, and we firmly believe this organisation ought to be put out of business. Fingers crossed, we’ll see a resolution soon, and those responsible face the legal consequences they deserve for this fraudulent act. We’ll keep you updated on any developments.

Just to add to what’s been previously mentioned, this company seems to acquire your details from other businesses you interact with. It often happens when you receive calls from folks trying to sell you goods or services, sometimes from call centres. When you make a purchase through them, they might share your information with others. It’s crucial to safeguard your privacy; refrain from providing any card details over the phone. Stay vigilant!

Be cautious if you're considering using the phone number 08708030193. It’s eerily similar to numerous other remarks suggesting a deal of £99.00 that includes a week’s stay at no charge, along with a complimentary entry into a raffle for additional holidays. The company operates under the name Travel Steps.

I wanted to share some insights about this company. They operate as Pressplay Home Shopping Ltd, also known as Travel Steps, with an address at PO Box 2616, Great Dunmow, Essex CM6 1DH. Their contact number is 0870 803 0193, and you can reach them via email at [email protected]. We genuinely hope this information proves to be beneficial. If you find yourself in dealings with them and have been a victim of a credit card scam, do not hesitate to inform them that your funds have been unlawfully taken. This strategy proved effective for us, and we managed to get our £99 reimbursed. Wishing you all the best!

We spotted a charge of £99.00 on our credit card bill under the description "HOME SHOPPING 08707870792." When we rang the number, the representatives claimed we had signed up for a holiday brochure. However, as soon as we pushed back, they suddenly decided to refund the entire amount. We're now just waiting to see if they actually follow through on their word. In the meantime, we've alerted our credit card provider about the situation.
