When dialling from an Orange device, you’re greeted with “Welcome to Orange speak Time.” In contrast, if you use a Virgin phone, it responds with “You’ve reached Mobiles Direct, but I’m afraid my office is currently closed.” Interestingly, I used SIM cards we hardly ever rely on, and I prefixed the number with “141” to mask our actual number.

We were presented with a phone plan that claimed they would take over our current contract within seven weeks. In the end, we decided to back out of it, as they offered us a superior deal for three new phones. We wanted to do our due diligence first to see if they were on the level. They mentioned having a website in the works and going by the name of Mobiles Direct, and it turns out they were based in Wales.

Received a call from this number the other day-could very well be the same one, but I didn’t take special note of it. It's clearly a third-party company posing as Vodafone, though they didn’t seem particularly interested in providing an upgrade or anything of the sort. Earlier today, this number buzzed my phone and hung up the moment I answered. Quite suspicious, if you ask me!
