We've received a video SMS along with a message that mentioned this phone number. We certainly did not ask for any of this! Could anyone please advise us on how to cancel it?

We received a text message that claimed to be linked to a video download, stating, "Thanks for downloading the video." The odd thing is, we didn’t even reply to that message, yet our balance inexplicably dropped by around £9.50. The message featured a phone number (08706091795) which appears to be an automated system for a company called W2. How on earth can we stop receiving these messages? This is the second time it's happened this week!

Could you possibly explain why we've received a video message that appears to be unviewable?

Last night, we received a rather dodgy video service message from a number that went by Venista 1vni. Honestly, it's infuriating dealing with these scammers! Is there anything at all that can be done to put an end to this sort of unscrupulous behaviour?

Hello everyone! I've just had a similar experience myself. Received an identical message and, although I attempted to download it, I pulled out before the download finished. To my surprise, I then got a text thanking me for the download, along with a notice that it had cost me £4.50. I reached out to Tesco Pay as You Go and they were incredibly helpful; they refunded my account and placed restrictions on my line. It’s such a shame that I didn’t catch on to this earlier, but I did some digging and realised this is happening far too frequently to many others.

We've experienced the exact same situation. All the numbers provided by O2 are automated responses. We're considering reaching out to Consumer Direct, as these individuals truly need to be put a stop to.

Received a message from that number and ended up losing around £6.50 on my phone. I'm curious as to how these individuals acquire such numbers, and why is it that they're permitted to harass vulnerable individuals such as the elderly? It's quite baffling that the telecom companies I've subscribed to don't seem to take a stand against this nuisance. Surely, they could implement measures to safeguard their customers from such scams?

I keep receiving unwanted spam messages on my mobile phone featuring embarrassing content about celebrities. It's really quite annoying! The number seems to be w03. w478. net.

We ought to be able to sort this out directly with Vodafone, don’t you think? It's high time we pursued a resolution, if you ask me!

We received the exact same message as many of you and were stung for over £4 just to view the text. We didn’t interact with anything apart from opening the SMS, and subsequently received another text thanking us for downloading a video we’ve never even heard of. The contact number provided was identical. We’re not particularly savvy with technology at all, so we’re wondering if anyone else has insight into what steps we should take or how it’s possible that someone managed to siphon that money from our account?

Every time my partner tops up their phone, the credit seems to disappear within a matter of weeks. It's rather odd, as we've received texts claiming to be from someone named Danielle Lloyd, mentioning some photos sent at around 3 o'clock. The text originates from 83044. The thing is, my partner has never subscribed to such services; their phone is just a basic model that can only make calls and send texts-absolutely no camera capabilities! We contacted the number linked to the messages and promptly cancelled any subscription. I'll be keeping everyone updated on how this unfolds.

We’ve just been hit with a charge for a video we didn’t even want! Is there anyone out there who knows when we can make a claim with O2?

Someone has surreptitiously downloaded videos onto our mobile phone without our consent, and we're completely in the dark about their identity. Not only that, but they've also managed to drain our phone credit entirely!

I checked my messages and discovered a download link from an unfamiliar source that I definitely don't want.

I’ve just encountered the same scam with the number 08706091795. Since we’re on pay-as-you-go, it can only siphon credit from our phone. Vodafone advised us to send a text with the word STOP to 83435, which is the source of the text. I really hope this sorts itself out as soon as we top up!

We received a message that left us quite puzzled. Upon opening it, we were redirected to a website that inexplicably downloaded a video onto our device without our consent. To add insult to injury, we've been hit with a charge of £5, yet we have no clue what the video is about or where it ended up. How on earth did these individuals get hold of our phone number in the first place? It’s a right mystery!

I received an unwanted text message that resulted in a £15 charge when my partner clicked on it. Quite frustrating!

Just got our O2 bill from last month and it appears there haven’t been any charges at all. We'll definitely be keeping a closer eye on things moving forward!

I suggest you lodge a complaint with a relevant government agency regarding those calls. They can be reached at 0800 500 212. We’ll need to hang tight for about 12 hours until O2 can clarify the charges applied to my account. O2 advised that we should reach out to the appropriate government body about this matter.
