I noticed this number is still listed on the official HMRC site for their Banbury branch in Oxfordshire, which is the closest to me since I’m just 16 miles away. I have no clue what info I let slip when I answered their security questions! If this is meant to be a business rates contact, how come the person calling can pretend to be from the tax office without any consequences? It would be good if phone providers could mark this number as a scam and stop the calls altogether.

Wasn’t expecting this number to charge 55p a minute once I picked up! Got a nasty surprise when my bill jumped by £11.66. Totally didn’t see that coming.😲
