Earlier this afternoon, my husband and I received a call from this number, so we thought it wise to mention it here on this site.

Has anyone managed to uncover the identity behind this number?

This number has a habit of calling me around four times daily. Quite persistent, I must say!

The caller asked to speak to me directly, using my name, before abruptly ending the call.

This number gives us a ring about four or six times daily, and there's never anyone on the line when we pick up. We've taken to just brushing it off, but I must admit, it really does get on my nerves.

Received a call from this number six times today. I decided to let it ring out each time, yet I’m quite curious to find out who it might be.

It could be HFC or Marbles, as these chaps seem to belong to the same crowd. That said, we’ve resolutely turned down any requests for payment over the phone. We did exchange a text with this number, but their website doesn’t display it, which raises a few red flags in my book. Feels a bit off, to be honest!

It appears that this number belongs to the collections team at HFC Bank. Interestingly, it seems to be linked to the Orange Marbles credit card recovery section as well.

Blimey, these callers are a right nuisance! They keep ringing up, requesting details about folks you live with, even though you’ve never had an account with them. It’s sheer nonsense! We don’t possess any credit cards or debts (not a penny to our name, ha!), and yet they persist in calling us, searching for our personal information. Why on earth would they do that? It’s infuriating! They seem to get our number from who knows where. Honestly, we just let them ring and ring and ring! If there were a genuine reason for their calls, they’d send a letter instead - it’s as simple as that!

Today has been rather maddening, having received five phone calls, and when I finally picked up, the caller promptly hung up as soon as I uttered "hello"! Now, that's what I'd call a nuisance call, bordering on a criminal act, if you ask me. I’m completely in the dark about which company is behind this. When they attempted to fish for my name, I politely declined; then they had the audacity to ask for my phone number, which I foolishly provided. Their response? They claimed my number wasn’t in their system! I couldn't help but wonder where they had obtained my number in the first place. I merely dialled 1471 and selected option 3, and somehow that led me to them. Naturally, they couldn’t explain that one! I believe this is definitely a matter that needs to be escalated to trading standards. Furthermore, it's absolutely within your rights to request that they remove your number from their records, and if they refuse, they're blatantly violating the law! It's high time we band together to put an end to this filth and the harassment we continue to endure from these rogue callers.

Keeps calling me day in, day out-such a bother! I'm really keen on putting an end to this.

This particular number just won't take the hint-keeps ringing away like there's no tomorrow! They've even taken to firing off some rather peculiar text messages our way. Time to fight fire with fire, I reckon. The number's 07794271962!

They keep ringing me only to hang up straightaway. What’s the point of that?

It turns out this was linked to HSBC, given that HFC was under the HSBC umbrella. We followed a similar approach to Adam Q, who contacted HFC directly to settle his payment. Lately, it seems there are an overwhelming number of overseas call centres, making it rather tricky to discern who you’re actually speaking with, as many of them seem to juggle roles for multiple companies or accounts all at once.

This number has been calling us daily since Sunday. The initial call was a message claiming to be from HSBC, but we chose to disregard it since we don’t have any dealings with that bank. We're inclined to think it's likely a scam, as banks typically don’t ring people out of the blue, do they?

HFC are truly the bane of existence, persistently bothering our esteemed elderly folk at all hours. It’s absolutely maddening to think they leave them dangling on the line, subjected to a relentless loop of excruciatingly tedious tunes! I swear, I refuse to engage with these insufferable numpties ever again! Enough said!

It seems like this was the number for their debt collection department. So, someone who shared your contact details probably has an outstanding balance with them! 😉

I called the number back, and it turned out to be HSC Bank.

It all kicked off right after we shared our number with Halifax. Admittedly, our overdraft has been whittled down, so we do owe them a bit. But seriously, why on earth is HSBC the one ringing us instead of Halifax? It's utterly baffling and quite maddening too! :D

For the last couple of weeks, I’ve been getting calls on my mobile from this number two or three times a day. The caller never leaves a message. When my phone is off or if I don’t answer, it goes straight to voicemail. We definitely don't have any sort of account with HSBC, and I've gone through my credit cards to see if there’s any connection to them - there isn’t. As far as I’m concerned, I’ll be avoiding this number for now. If it’s a legitimate caller, they’ll surely leave a message or get in touch with us through proper channels eventually.

It's incredibly annoying to receive calls from this obnoxious individual. I've had enough-please just stop ringing me!

Apparently, this call was from some automated system. If you fancy getting rid of these nuisance calls, you can give BT a bell at 0800 121 8000 and sign up with the Telephone Preference Service - it won’t cost you a penny! Once that’s done, you should find yourself free from these pesky cold callers. Brilliant, eh?
