This number popped up on my phone as a missed call. I rang back only to get some automated voice about the tax office or something like that. I ended the call quickly and added the number to my block list.

This is complete rubbish and all down to jobs being sent off to poorer nations. Our private info is out there now, and with these untrained folks (call them what you want), this sort of thing is never going to stop. Law enforcement seems more interested in hassling people for minor speeding than tackling the real problems. Hope your day’s better than this.

I got a call from this number too and they left a voicemail. Instead of listening to it, I rang back straight away. Even though I’m usually pretty calm, I got really rattled when they accused me of owing money. I told them to get in touch with my accountant, but they insisted it was a matter with the Australian Federal Police. They said I had to listen carefully to what the officer was saying before I could ask anything. It was only after I gave my details like my name and address that I sensed something fishy. They also threatened me with an arrest because apparently I ignored a warrant. Then the call suddenly cut out, so I phoned my accountant to check. Later, I also rang the ATO to be sure.

Had a good laugh with this call during my morning drive. I just made up a fake name and address and kept them chatting the whole way to work. Honestly, the longer you keep them talking, the less likely they are to scam anyone else. The more daft you act, the better it is. Pretend you can’t hear properly and ramble on about nonsense!

This number called me with a recorded message, claiming they were from the ATO and said I have a criminal case on my name. They threatened I’d be arrested if I didn’t ring them back. Totally ridiculous, haha!

So someone called me with an Indian accent, which I could tell since I'm Indian myself. They claimed to be from the tax department and wanted my address info. Fingers crossed the proper officials do something about this.

I picked up on the fact this bloke sounded Indian too. It's the risk you take when firms shift their work over to India - suddenly, all your private info’s out there at risk. Well done to the ATO and others, just cutting costs by handing things over to who knows who, probably some dodgy people.

I picked up when this number rang and it was some recorded message claiming they were from the ATO, threatening me with legal action and even arrest. Absolute nonsense! I wasn’t convinced for a second but I can see how this might frighten older or more vulnerable folks. Definitely report these scam calls and make sure you block them.
