Just received a rather distressing phone call from a chap claiming to represent a debt recovery agency. He informed me that a client had taken legal action against me in the form of a high court writ, and that my business was at risk. Apparently, I had to cough up the sum of £2388 today itself or face a visit from his colleagues who would come to seize my equipment. They mentioned a further charge of 30% if they had to actually show up. The whole thing stemmed from an advert that supposedly cost me only £199. How did that escalate into such a whopping amount? When I pressed him for the name of the debt recovery firm, he stated he was with the Manchester civil justice system! I requested both his mobile number and the office line, yet he simply hung up on me. I reported the incident to the police, who assured me it was a scam, but it definitely left me feeling quite on edge for the rest of the day.

I'm in the same boat! I've tried to look up RedLeaf or Reach Debt Recovery myself, and it's like they don't exist online. Yet, toss in the word "scam" and suddenly, a plethora of results pop up! I had a rather unpleasant encounter with a rather abrasive lady who not only threatened me with legal action but also found it amusing!
What's the best next step here? Should we be reporting them to the authorities or perhaps a consumer watchdog?

I find myself in quite a predicament with a firm called Red Leaf, who insist that I owe them £199 for an advertisement I never authorised. They keep sending me bills through the post, but they seem to have mixed up the postcode and even the address details. The woman who keeps phoning me is exceptionally rude and threatening; today she mentioned that bailiffs would be arriving shortly to claim my belongings. When I suggested I might take legal action against them, she just laughed it off, saying I wouldn’t stand a chance. It’s becoming a weekly nuisance as she calls relentlessly, refusing to relent. I've contacted the police, but they merely advise me to disregard their threats, which is easier said than done. I’m at my wits' end and really need some advice on how to put an end to this harassment. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I've encountered the exact same issue recently. I've received a letter from Reach Debt Recovery, insisting I cough up cash or face a visit from the bailiffs and potential court proceedings. It's high time this scam is put to an end!

I can completely relate. I've had my fair share of encounters with "Redleaf," "Reach," and now I’ve just received what appears to be a rather dubious court order, complete with the wrong court emblem and a mere single sheet of paper. They've even gone as far as to threaten me with their ‘enforcers’ coming round to seize my property. Honestly, it's best to ignore them, as there's nothing genuine about their claims. They lack a valid registration number, no CSA membership number, no registered address, and not a single reliable phone number to reach them! And as for that so-called debt recovery letter from Reach, anyone who's been through this nonsense knows that an authentic debt recovery letter typically spans at least four pages, not just a flimsy one with a couple of short paragraphs!

I've also found myself in a bit of a pickle with Redleaf recently, along with a couple of other dodgy characters claiming to be debt collectors. It's been relentless-my phone has been ringing off the hook, and I've received a mountain of invoices and letters from some so-called agents at 'Reach Debt Recovery'. Strangely, they don’t even list an address, just an Australian mobile number, which seems rather suspicious if you ask me. It’s quite disheartening to be constantly harassed and bullied like this. However, I feel a sense of relief coming across your website. It’s reassuring to know I’m not losing my grip on reality and that this is, indeed, a scam!

Beware of this fraudulent operation. They specifically prey on smaller enterprises, making false assertions that you're somehow committed to promoting in an entirely fictitious publication. My advice? Waste their time. They will be quite pushy in their attempts to extract funds from you, which, just to be clear, you do not owe them. Foolishly, they might even provide their bank details, but be aware that while small businesses can't initiate direct debits with those, charitable organisations might be able to. I’d recommend noting down as much information as you can from their invoices-names, bank details, whatever-and then make a nice donation to a charity in their name.

I've been inundated with calls from some outfit claiming I owe them money and insisting I must get back to them. It seems to stem from an advertisement I supposedly signed up for, though I have no recollection of such an agreement. They've escalated matters by hinting at possible legal proceedings in their latest email. Quite alarming, really!

I’ve been receiving these persistent phone calls claiming that I’ve signed up to promote something in a booklet, and they’re urging me to get in touch about making a payment.

I recently got a voicemail instructing me to ring the number listed above, claiming that I owe some money and they’re going to take legal action. I attempted to return the call, but nobody seems to pick up the phone. It's quite concerning!
