I received a phone call from a bloke who claimed there had been an accident involving my car. When I tried to clarify, he began hurling profanities at me before abruptly ending the call. Quite the cheek!

I got a call from this number claiming I’d been in a car accident. I told them I hadn’t but then the bloke just started swearing at me out of nowhere.

Got a call from someone saying they're from an insurance company, claiming I'd been in a small car crash, but I'm not driving at the moment so no way that's true. They never mentioned which insurer they were with either. The person was quite polite though, and when I told them I hadn't had any accident, they just apologised and ended the call. Funny enough, last week I got a similar call from a different number, that one turned out to be a broker for Aviva's credit claim line.

I’ve had calls from 08588189518 loads of times, always saying they're from some accident claim firm and want to talk about your claim - which isn’t true at all. They seem to grab numbers mostly from ads on Gumtree and other websites. Honestly, just ignore them or waste their time with nonsense chat. If it gets too much, you could even report them to Ofcom.
