Got a call claiming to be from HSBC, but the number didn’t seem right - it was 0845 instead of 0345. Pretty sure they were fishing for bank details to empty your account. Watch out!

We received a message on our landline prompting us to call this number, which we did. Unfortunately, in the process, we somehow managed to lock our phone security code, so we had to create a new one. Once we eventually got through, it became clear that there was no need for us to be in touch with you. They asked for our card numbers, which left us quite uneasy due to the prevalence of scams these days. We’re prepared to head over to our local branch to verify that everything is above board. Could you kindly look into why we were contacted in the first place?

We dialled up HSBC, taking the call for our elderly mum, and found ourselves stuck in an endless queue. After what felt like an eternity, when we finally got through, the representative we spoke to seemed utterly bewildered. In the mere sixteen seconds we were connected, nothing was sorted out. To make matters worse, T-Mobile had the audacity to slap us with a £5.49 charge for this frustrating experience! What a ridiculous waste of money and invaluable time. Our recommendation? Steer clear of HSBC if you can!

I received a message on my phone from our son, who’s currently at university. After going through this blog, I've advised him to disregard it.

I have come across some details related to an HSBC branch at 9 High Street, Bracknell, Berkshire, RG12 IDN, regarding an account with number 0632000195105435 and Micro Number 200929 40 0202 41159910. It appears there was a cheque issued to Mr. Shakil Ahmed Siddiqui, dated the 2nd of January, 2016, for a sum of forty-five lakhs intended for the installation of a tower in Basti District, Uttar Pradesh. However, it's concerning that the cheque was signed by the Managing Director of Tower Vision Ltd. I would appreciate it if someone could verify whether this information is accurate or just a fabrication. Your assistance would be invaluable for public awareness.

We received a message instructing us to call the number listed above, purportedly associated with HSBC. Apparently, we need to update our phone security number, which involves disclosing our 16-digit card number. We're quite uneasy about this, as it raises red flags about potential scams. Could you help clarify why this number is asking us to get in touch?

We received a call from this number and ended up with a £2.60 charge! I've had my fair share of frustrations with HSBC; they're really not the best when it comes to handling fees. We initially contacted them using our landline, only for them to say they'd call us back, so we provided our mobile number since we would be out and didn't want to incur extra charges. After being loyal customers for more than a decade, we've finally decided to switch banks due to their thoughtless and rather ridiculous practices.

I’m trying to track down a specific number for a branch, but this seems to be the sole number that pops up for every location across the nation. It’s quite concerning how these folks request all our login details before we’ve had a chance to clarify our needs. It’s really unsettling, and apparently, it could cost quite a bit too!

Hi there! I received a call from this number earlier in the day, and they left a voicemail asking me to get in touch, mentioning something about HSBC but not really clarifying the purpose of the call. Additionally, I've had missed calls from a different number that I've heard might be connected to a Vodafone scam. Just out of curiosity - does anyone else here have a PlayStation Network account? I'm wondering if these calls could be associated with the Sony hack that compromised personal information, including names, addresses, and phone numbers, and in certain regions, even bank details.

My sibling rang this number using Hello Mobile, and it ended up costing them a tenner for just twenty-five minutes! Just a heads-up, everyone! Stay vigilant!

All I wanted was a quick chat with the local branch about setting up a current account for our daughter who's just turned 18, and instead, I ended up with a £4.78 fee for speaking to some distant call centre! HSBC, what on earth are you thinking?

We attempted to get in touch with HSBC regarding our elderly mother's account. After being left on hold for ages, we finally got through to an advisor who seemed utterly clueless. In the brief time we were on the line-not even a minute-we didn't manage to resolve a thing and ended up racking up a bill of £5.49 with T-Mobile for the call, which felt like a downright waste of both time and money. Our suggestion? Steer clear of banking with HSBC!

Beware of these callers! We received a phone call from someone with an Asian accent and chose not to engage or share any information. Subsequently, our partner discovered an email linked to the call, seemingly informed by the ringing we experienced. Earlier today, we had a chat with someone from HSBC who advised us that our account had been compromised. They confirmed that the numbers in question never made contact on the supposed day nor did they send any email correspondence. Stay vigilant!

It’s not acceptable to call on someone else’s behalf without permission. If you do have the authority, then be sure you’re aware of how to manage that properly. Don’t bother trying to alter circumstances just to claw back a few moments of your day. If you fancy banking with HSBC, go ahead, but you’re only throwing away their resources in the process.

I received a call from this number today, but the person on the other end disconnected without saying a word. I've noticed that others have flagged it as a scam line. I’m quite cautious about sharing any card details over the phone, especially considering that a mere date of birth and postcode can reveal so much personal information. One bloke attempted to fish for my details by claiming he knew everything about me, insisting he could pinpoint where I live. I calmly told him that I had no idea who he was. Whenever I need to contact my bank, I always prefer sending a secure message through their app rather than calling them; they already have all my information on file and don’t require much from me. Honestly, when these cold callers ring, it’s best to simply hang up. When I mentioned I was unemployed to one of them, they didn't bother to say goodbye before cutting me off! If they persistently call back, just stash your phone away for a few days.
