While I was out, my landline rang six times, and then late at night I received another call, which I managed to pick up on my extension. To my surprise, it turned out to be a pre-recorded message that offered me three choices. First, I could listen to the message, second I could save it, or third, I could erase it entirely. I opted for the third choice and deleted it, but I’m left wondering if that was the best decision.

The first time we received a call from this number, we were attempting to track someone down. However, as soon as we asked them to clarify the name, they abruptly replied that they'd misdialled. Mere moments later, we got another call claiming to be from a BT service, followed by a text urging us to press 1 to receive further information. Naturally, we pressed 1 (not entirely confident we won’t be scammed) and were then greeted with some sort of message redirecting us to a website. Without hesitation, we hung up.
