I’ve just been informed by HSBC that this isn’t one of their numbers, and we don’t even hold an account with them. If you think it’s legitimate, it’s best to call HSBC from a number listed on their official website and ask to be connected if you have an account.

Absolutely HSBC! They gave us a ring to verify an online transaction we’d just completed, seeing as it was quite a substantial sum. We reckon it was a legitimate call; all they wanted was a name from us!

I recently had an encounter with what turned out to be the scam department from HSBC, dealing with online and phone fraud. They called to verify whether the transactions leaving my account were legitimate. If they sense something dodgy, they’re there to assist in resolving the issue. Just a heads-up, if you try calling them back, don’t be surprised if it takes several tries to connect; their team seems a bit stretched. After about half an hour, they’ll redirect you to a voicemail to leave a message, but I'd advise against that-better to keep redialling instead!

We received a call from these individuals who insisted we return their call before 10 in the evening. Strangely, they also had our name on hand. When we contacted HSBC, they confirmed that the number belonged to them, yet these folks had no details concerning any issues with our account or even any record of reaching out to us. Honestly, HSBC leaves much to be desired. Might I suggest considering an account with Alliance and Leicester instead?

I recently discovered that this number belongs to the fraud prevention team at HSBC. They ring up to verify if certain transactions from your account are legitimate. If they suspect something's off, they’re quite keen to assist you in resolving any potential issues. Just a heads-up, if you’re thinking of returning their call, be prepared for several attempts to get through since their lines seem to be quite busy with limited staff. After a while-typically around thirty minutes-they’ll redirect you to a voicemail, but I’d recommend holding off on leaving a message and just keep dialing back instead.

It appears that this number crops up right after you secure your online banking account. We gave them a call to get it unlocked and to confirm that we had carried out an online transaction. However, they do have the cheek to charge for the call :/

I received a call from this number, claiming to be from the HSBC fraud prevention team. They urged me to return the call, but feeling rather uneasy about it, I decided to contact a genuine HSBC number instead with a reference they provided. I used a number I frequently call, and after a brief wait, HSBC confirmed that the call was indeed not from them. Quite unsettling, really!

Absolutely convinced it’s HSBC. They called us just to verify our online transaction, given that it’s quite a substantial sum. As a result, we feel reassured that everything is in order. They merely asked for our name, nothing more!

I had an alarming encounter with some individuals claiming to be from HSBC who insisted I share my postcode and date of birth. They seemed to already know the last few digits of my account number and were probing about recent transactions. Naturally, I grew suspicious and contacted HSBC directly. They assured me that such details should never be requested like that and confirmed that the number I had dialled wasn't linked to them at all. It’s quite clear that you should avoid calling that number or revealing any personal information over the phone. Be cautious, everyone!

Without a doubt, this call was from HSBC. We had our account compromised, and shortly after, their Fraud Operations team got in touch with us, even sending over some paperwork for us to fill out and send back. At first, we were quite wary of the phone call, but after making a swift trip to our nearest HSBC branch, the staff confirmed that it was indeed a genuine contact. Interestingly, this number wasn’t featured on HSBC’s official list, as it supposedly connects directly to a specific department within their office. I hope this information proves useful to others!

This definitely wasn't from HSBC. We received a message on our mobile that claimed to be from their fraud department, which set off alarm bells. We tried ringing them back but couldn't get through. After a bit of digging online, we found the proper customer service number and confirmed that both our account and card are perfectly safe.

We received a call from these folks asking us to return the call by 10 PM. They even mentioned their name. According to HSBC, this is their contact number, but it turns out they have no idea about any issues related to our account or who exactly is trying to reach us. It’s all a bit dodgy, to be honest. Honestly, HSBC could learn a thing or two. Perhaps it's time to consider switching to Alliance and Leicester for a more reliable service!

Absolutely, this was definitely from HSBC. Our bank account was compromised, and we received a call from this number regarding fraudulent activities, asking us to send back certain documents. Initially, we were quite wary of the call, but after a visit to our nearest HSBC branch, they confirmed it was indeed a genuine call. This number wasn’t in the usual listings; it seemed to be a direct line to their Pacific office. Hope this information proves useful to others!

Honestly, as soon as that call comes through, make sure to return it straight away. We're fairly certain our computer got hit with a trojan or some kind of virus, and it appears those dodgy "pirates" managed to get hold of our details. They almost transferred a whopping £9,700 to a Citibank account in our name! So, it's crucial you get in touch with HSBC immediately. We've managed to dodge a bullet this time; they've halted the transaction, our computer’s been cleaned and fortified, and we've scrambled all our passwords.
