Got a call from someone saying they were from Santander, claiming there was suspicious activity on my account. They seemed to know a good amount about me already and then asked me for some private details to “confirm” who I was. I told them I’d ring Santander myself to check, but this bloke (spoke with an English accent) kept pushing me to stay on the line with him. Didn’t fall for it though. Phoned Santander straight away, and they told me it’s definitely a scam, probably tied to that NHS track and trace scam going around recently.

Beware of scams where they try to change your phone number by asking for the Santander one time pass code (OTP). It's a trick to steal your info, don't fall for it.

Received an email purportedly from Abbey's online service, claiming they had arranged a payment using my Abbey Bank credit card. It instructed me to visit abbey.com, log in, and check my new messages. Alarmingly, I suspect this is a phishing scam designed to harvest login details for nefarious purposes. It's best to stay cautious!
