It seems to me that this might be some sort of card payment device.

My BT bill has raised a bit of a red flag - turns out it’s the priciest call we've placed. The landline responsible for those calls isn't one of our usual handsets, mind you. We've also got an Elavon card machine, which I know tends to do its overnight updates and whatnot. This does tie in rather well with what Chris mentioned earlier.

The phone or possibly a server located within the premises has been calling this number repeatedly-specifically, six times last night, commencing at 22:26 and lasting for about half an hour each time. I'm unable to locate the device that was making these calls, so I'm rather puzzled about the motive behind them.

I've been noticing that this particular number keeps appearing on my landline, yet I can assure you that we are not the ones initiating the calls-not to mention, there's no phone connected at all! I've come across similar accounts on various platforms from others who’ve experienced their phones dialing this number without their consent. It's outrageous! Last night alone, my landline rang four times between 2 and 3 AM, resulting in an astonishing charge of £4.36. This needs to be addressed, as it’s clearly leading to unexpected costs for unsuspecting individuals.

This number rang us automatically and ended up costing us 55 pence. The call came in at 5:45 AM, of all times! Is there any method to prevent this from occurring in the future? It’s baffling how something like this can happen without anyone actually manually entering the phone number.
