Someone rang me up saying they were from the social housing repairs team, but I don’t live in any social housing. When I asked where they got my info from, they insisted it was from the social housing company. I told them that can’t be right since I’m not a tenant, but they just kept saying that’s definitely where they got my details from. Bit odd if you ask me.

I had a rather dubious phone call from someone purporting to represent a government initiative aimed at assisting those in financial straits post-Covid. The caller, who had a South African accent, insisted they were based in Manchester. However, I couldn’t find any mention of this programme on official government sites. It raises concerns that they could be loan sharks, and I'm also skeptical about potentially fabricated reviews on Trust Pilot. Just a heads up to anyone else who might receive a similar call!
